As an older player I was taught to step in with the front foot on the forehand except for volley..I changed this (and still am) to the back foot as I can see the benefits: - quicker kick back to the T - straighter line running up towards the ball (no curved run in path) - being able to hit anywhere on the front wall with ease, including cross shots - masking the intention of the shot. The back foot stance can be used as universal stance for all shots What else did I miss?

Fast short swing, deception, low energy use, Lob cross is easy if in trouble. This is the first lesson I have given these guys in front court back foot and they struggled to not use the front foot but you see the outcomes already are showing good signs.

@@squashanalysis5670 Wow, yes, plenty of good reasons. The main reason for the "old" front foot stance was turning in shoulders, but in the back foot stance this is well covered by keeping that elbow close to the body with an open blade which assures shoulder rotation. Really good stuff. This will change the way I teach the kids. Thank you 👍
