Ali Farag is a true role model. The way he plays the game is inspiring. His values and calibre as a person come through so clearly from the way he carries himself on the court. Since he came on tour he has impacted the entire culture. Others are trying to carry themselves with similar respect and appreciation for their competition now - its phenomenal to see

i agree totally. One small area that i have seen this in acknowledging a great shot from your opponent. Gaultier and Ramy aside, not many players acknowledged fantastic shots. Ali does it regularly and i noticed MES do it more in this game than i have seen before.

Shorbagy clearly isn't the crowd favourite. However he hits outright winners like Dessouky and has the best mental strength of the top players. This is on the back of Farag looking unstoppable and Shorbagy playing off form. Great stuff.

Mohammed ES demonstrated how to beat Ali Farag. Play without fear, take every opportunity and play fast, sharp volleys to keep the rangy fellow off balance. You can't give Farag any chance to breathe or he'll run all over you.
@777greglee4 жыл бұрын
Kudos to ElShorbagy. Great quality and fantastic spirit. I didn't see the whole match but it looked like Ali Farag went a bit passive in decisive points. It seemed like ElShorbagy was the more attacking player at the key moments.
@gedofgont10064 жыл бұрын
Yep, too passive and his short game was way off the mark, too. Still, Elshorbagy was really fired up and so accurate. He deserved to win, no doubt about it.
@abdiver124 жыл бұрын
Both these players have incredible movement but for me, the difference is Shorbagy's accuracy to the front. His drops and boasts are much tighter than Farag's which are often loose and get him into trouble. If Farag can improve the accuracy of his short game, he will become much harder to beat plus he won't have to work so hard to win points.
@ahmedhafez68764 жыл бұрын
See how tight MES hugging his coach you can realise that MES has improved his mental strength rather than just technique to be able to beat Farag...

El Shorbagy looked wiped out. What I admire most here, on top of his usual unbelievable mental intensity, is how calm and measured he played it. Not a lot of beast mode - deliberate, precise shots to the corners. Aside from some sketchy boasts from Farag, looks like they both played an amazing match. But the telling detail here is that even in losing Farag looked like he had the time of his life. El Shorbagy only has the time of his life when he wins :)
