Sir, let me just say thank you, thank you and thank you again. My Lexus NX 300 was so bad the power liftgate would stop from the resistance. This tip fixed it!

Worked on my RX 2014. Spray and hold a cloth or something behind the shaft in order to prevent the caulking on the rubber parts as the excess turns white and sticks to the rubber and plastic. Thanks👍

Thanks Steve, my 2016 RAV4 trunk has not been working consistently. Beeps and comes of latch but doesn’t push up the door. If I disconnect the battery and reconnect, it’ll work for a week than not again. I’ll try the lube.

Yes You dont want to use a wet lube because it attracts dust and dirt and will shorten the life of the parts

I've got the same noise on my RAV4's tailgate power lifter, I tried gun oil and WD40 but it didn't help. Is there any difference if I go buying the dry lubricant and try it or something else is wrong in here? It works perfectly, just this squicking noise is on my nerves. 😅

My tailgate on my Lexus just stopped working (I assume the same components) and before that happened it was squeaking. I wonder if (a) lubricating like you have done would have prevented and (b) is it too late to give a go? The electric mechanism isn't working to open the tailgate and Lexus just have quoted me $3,100 (£2,400) to fix! Which on the quote looks like they are just replacing the tailgates? Hmmm

Unfortunately these technical parts can malfunction / deteriorate. I have to travel very soon so I am at the mercy of the car garage as just to order off the market level components would take a couple of weeks 😐 Lesson learned everyone - listen to this man’s advice!!!! Before it’s too late.

Nothing wrong with a dry Molly graphite lube but don’t overdue it or it can gum up..

@ I tried, it didn’t work, it continues to beep, my car is 2020 Mazda CX 9. My friend tried to open manually whilst I was pressing the open button from inside and it jammed.

I tried this on 2017 Lexus RX and it didn’t stop the squeaking. I used WD-40 specialist dry lube with ptfe. Does it matter which dry lube you use?
