Great portamento, legato and vibrato on the guitar, too. I will be doing this as a solo act at my local pub next week, but I'll need to stick to rhythm guitar to keep it going. But I know I'll be subconsciously channeling Glen's voice. It's perfect for the song.

Love squeeze I have since I was 8-9 and listened to cool for cats. I’m obviously ALLOT older now but ten years ago I remember thinking that’s odd why would a woman living on her own have a dog? It's amazing really. Difford and Tilbrook were hailed as the new Lennon and McCartney during their initial heyday, and they were undoubtedly the best, most consistent songwriting team of their era. Yet today they are largely forgotten and unknown by all but the fans who knew their work back then.

Nobody remembers them because they aren't that good. Their only good song was "Tempted" and that was only because Paul Carrack sang lead on it. He was a big star in other bands like Ace and Mike and the Mechanics, so people cared about that one.

Glenn Tilbrook was the usual lead singer. Chris Difford usually sang lead on one song per album and Paul Carrack and Keith Wilkinson sang lead on 2 songs.

I always hated when "bands" performed on Letterman during the NBC era, as you never got the full band, but just the frontman and and maybe another member. Usually the house band does a job job on the tune, and in this case they did. However, the backing vocals provided by Will and Sid are, well... not good.
