Squeezebox Advent Calendar with John Spiers - December 22nd - Hohner 114 (1 row 4 stop) in G

Behind today's advent calendar door is a classic Hohner - the one-row-four-stop ... this one in the very low key of G. Hohner still make this model today, although the modern ones are built in China, not Germany. We go inside to see just how that familiar growly sound is made.

Just acquired my first HA114 G -very happy with it. Hard to find a good one here in Australia. Read somewhere about using magnets internally to prevent the stop reeds closing whilst playing. How do you fit them? Thank you for very helpful information on this wonderful simplistic, great sounding instrument. Many thanks.

One of the cool things about the skinny little Hohner 114 🪗 is that it will fit perfectly in the narrow very well padded Lowepro Flipside 300 camera backpack Both the Hohner and the pack are out of production, but they travel perfectly together if you can find them 😀 Here’s a long review in German to go with your German accordion!
