I just love how there's a sunset lighting everything during this episode. It reminds me of playing with my childhood friends in an old neighborhood like that and the feeling of dread set in when you know you have to stop playing with your friend for the day and say bye. It's genius set designing.

This is the most emotional episode. There were two main points and words in Episode 6. "Gganbu" and "hyung", this English subtitle skipped "hyung" "Gganbu" and "hyung", These words can come from a strong trust. "Gganbu" is one of common children's words that is similar with "Blood alliance". The dictionary meaning of "hyung" is commonly used to call an older/elder brother in a family. However, "Hyung" has more important meaning about trust then the dictionary meaning when calling someone Hyung. Ali called Sangwoo "Hyung" until he died from the previous episode. Ali has never called him Sangwoo directly in Episode 6. But unfortunately "Hyung" has been translated into Sangwoo in Episode 6 the last words of Jiyoung was "Thank you, for being with me" the meaning of "saebyeok" is Dawn in English, this means a fresh/new start or a fresh Hope in Korean.

He may be stupid for being selfish but as I have said its a matter of survival. In this game, everyone is for themselves and we can't blame him for doing that to Ali. Ji-Young was so thoughtful and considerate that at the very end she did everything in her power to take the load off Sae-Byeok's shoulders telling her "thank you", that it wasn't her fault. The same with the Oh-Il-Nam the old man. Also, "Sae-Byeok" in Korean means "dawn". In Korean "hyung" means "older brother" and is very informal/loving in a language and culture where formalities/etiquette mean everything, you'd *only ever* call someone "hyung" if you're blood, or very close and only if they permit you to do so. Until the very end, Ali was calling Sang-Wu "hyung" because he genuinely trusted and cared for him.

Some people really watching this series with their brains turned off. Until now Sangwoo saved them so many times with his ideas or when they were fighting. Even at Red Light Green Light he gave him some tipps to stay behind someone. He was always loyal and was helping the team to survive. But now it was different. Now it was him or his teammate. This series shows us that words like "I would die for you" can never be trusted and that trusting someone or caring for someone is only right to a certain point. It was kill or be killed and anyone here who shts on Sangwoo would do the same to survive.

I read a comment about how Gi-hun's relationship with Il-nam (the old man) mirrored his relationship with his mother. He genuinely cares for them and tries his best for them, even when other people won't. But in the end, when his life is starting to get messy and he's got a lot on his shoulders, he turns to deceiving them and betraying their trust.

Sang-Woo did play the game fairly. The aim of the game was play any game to take all 20 marbles from your opponent. He did just that. He played his game of wit, and Ali lost by a huge margin. It's survival of the fittest, Ali lacks the basics of survival instincts that were key to our survival as species. It's a critical deficiency. It's sad, but that's nature - and nature is brutal

Yeah. As much as I hate him for what he did, its completely understandable. Ali was just too innocent for the game. Tbh, if i was in the same situation, i am not sure that I wouldnt do what Sang woo did.

By my count... out of 38 participants in the fourth game (marbles), there were 16 survivors. Which means that three pairings ran out of time without a clear winner and were BOTH killed. I know it's not the focus of the drama, but that's a terrifying tidbit of information if you really think about it.

i think the old man is the main characters father, because he says he forgot that he forgot today is his sons birthday, if we see in the first episode where the main character takes his mothers card and enters 0426 as pin which has 26 date and 4th month, if we see in the third episode in which 2nd game of 6 total games on that day it was 24th( in the police officers phone), and the marble game is the 4th one and they have already said that 6days and 6games so that it comes to 26th day which was the day they were playing marbles game and also the pin entered by the main character and the old man says today is his sons birthday, and also theres one more fact adding to that because the main character says he also lived in the similar area in his childhood may be he's recalling his childhood barely. i dont know if this makes sense but it may be true because we can see that his mother is living alone and we didnt see his father

There has never been a time when emotions have intensified or fluctuated in European or American dramas. Watch another Korean drama. It will make you cry a lot. The only thing that makes viewers' hearts race is Korean dramas. No country can make me shed tears.

Actually, Jiyeong says "Thanks for being with me" / "Thanks for playing with me" in Korean, which hits so much harder 😭 I don't know why Netflix translated it as "I'm honored that we were partners", when it's not even remotely close to what she actually said in Korean..☹️

I think they mean to show that nobody really knows what they'd be like until they're put in those situations. We may think we're good people, but really we may all be like Sangwoo when push comes to shove and it's our own lives on the line. A situation like that strips you of all your redeeming quality until only your essence of being is left. Only then can you truly know what kind of person you are deep down.

Honestly everyone who hates Sangwoo for what he did is understandable but gullible like Ali. Its a life or death situation. To be able to leave the debt ridden hell that is your life. to redeem yourself to help your mother to pay her back for what you took. to live. ANY of us could have tried to trick someone you just met in order to survive. its easy to judge and point fingers from the comfort of not being in this situation. the same as people financially privileged say they would never steal when starving, sell drugs to survive or commit crime in general to live another day. us human beings are capable of incredibly cruel and selfish human feats when its about life and death, life in prison for decades or salvation and riddance of all your problems. we dont know what we would have done in this situation. anyone who says anything else is a liar in self denial.

Call it denial, but i still think being good is a scale and people have ranges... some people really wouldn't do that. Look at the honor code of great warriors of different regions in history (ex: real samurai), they'd never do that. Some people find honor/being "good" until death a thing they will do, be it their beliefs or faith or experiences that led them to think this way. Same thing for people who think its all made up by society and that it doesn't matter in the end. At the end of the day, people are nurtured by different environments and are exposed to different things (even family member's differ) that make them think the way they do. No one is right in the end, its just how you see it. P.S im not saying im either one, i just wanna share my thoughts for people who like to read :)

It's not denial, people don't hate Sang Woo because we're guillible, people just don't like scammers who on top of everything, are cowards. Sang Woo had so many advantages out in the real world but still chose to scam people (including his own mother) and got himself into debt while running from facing justice, which shows he was the same sneaky coward no matter the circumstance. Take the gangsters for example, they're despicable but at least they show you their true colors from the start.
