I think they knew beforehand. There was a person responsible for managing without him, some of his men literally came down with him despite seeing him in uniform and his face. (At least before he pretended to have died. It's pretty easy to assume he went into their control room after, put back on his coat and mask, and had some men come with him after to make his flashy entrance.)

I really like this scene cuz most recruiters are just kids they probably never been to the mandatory Korean army duty yet, where most players are all veterans and some of them are even marines, so it completely make sense why they won in the beginning, I also love how one of the main reason (Besides front man) they lose is because they are running out of ammo which is very realistic, many Hollywood action films completely forgot about that.

This is not the reason why Guards usually had more casualties. theres a stronger and even more concrete idea circling around. Ever notice the fact that they have a mandatory military service In korea, so everyone has some sort of military background atleast. Do you also remember how when you call the hotline the Recruiter gives you? They ask specifically for your name and birthdate as It can be safely assumed that all players were above the legal age in-order to join and give their consent on the player consent form. So everyone you see in the squid games were mostly ROKA vets (excluding to those who defected from North Korea or for some Female players.) The real reason why Guards mostly had a higher casualty is due to the fact they were wearing mesh masks which hindered their visibility. (You can also notice how they usually fire their Mp5s from the hip instead of aiming them when they eliminated players, and how 011 took her mask off inorder to see through the scope from the sniper rifle during the red light green light game.)

I guess that's why the episode is called "friend or foe". Do I think he'll come around? Probably, but if he does, he'll probably go to prison. At the same time though, we do learn a bit of his back story and it's actually tragically sad. And at times you do feel bad for him. And I think part of the reason why he decided to take matter to his own hands and decide to "join" the games was simply to see what gihun would do. There 2 parts of me that thinks these 2 things. 1. He is still an evil prick that we know, Killin jung bae, knowing it was gihunsbest friend, in cold blood was dark as fuck. Or 2. Who does eventually come to his senses and understands what gihun means. I still think that jung baes death was insanely dark on powerful, more so than sang woo from s1. This death will hit gihun hard bro. And I have a sneaking suspicion that in some way, the ending of season 3, confirmed to be the final season, might end on a depressing note. Gihun finding out that young il(ih ho, frontman) was behind it all, ends up killing him and gihun himself ends up as the front man. That would be a massive twist, though not the one I prefer. But considering how they wanted gihun and inho to build a relationship one way or another. I do actually see inho coming to his senses and turning himself in. Now remember, they've played just 3 games this season. Which means there are 3 left. Which has me thinking that detective hwang will find the island but with captain park seemingly being suspicious. I think detective hwang finds out that captain park was in fact was one of the people in the pink suits. I'm suspicious of him at the moment. Killing one of the guys for no reason at all if we are being real?

Let’s think about guys we all knew that in-ho was gonna do this. Gi hun already was at a disadvantage cause they watching his every move. There was no hope of stopping the game even if in-ho would have fought beside them, the outcome would have still be the same. There was no guarantee that They would got in the control room. On the other hand jun ho would still struggle to find the island cause of captain park.

I honestly think this season explores a lot on both sides. What if Front Man is just doing all of this because he has seen some things on people who was captured and why he has to continue doing them? Maybe because he was once like Gi-hung but he became broken and got offered a Frontman position after understanding what he has gone through? Maybe he's being a Frontman doing it as a "greator good" after being convinced by the higher ups or maybe he has the same plan as Gi-hung but he joined them in order to destroy them from the inside once the time is right but it seems unlikely honestly.

No plot holes there. The masked officer(according to subs) seems to have helped 011 after she escaped from the North and have known each other for 7 years. And the organ harvesting is behind the front man’s back. It’s quite clearly explained.

imo. player 456 really naive, i agree with the frontman when he said they need to kill the people that agree to play again cause the people that want to go home is really vulnurable. in the end they still work together with the people who want to stay and play.
