Squid Game Season 2 Review- IS SQUID GAME SEASON 2 A WORTHY SEQUEL?!?!?

one thing i really liked about this season is that we got more backstory on the innerworkings of the game and their overall agenda/motive. i also like how we got answers as to what the different shapes mean/represent in the game. the workers with triangles are the executioners/snipers, the ones with squares handle the technology/control room, and the ones with circles handle the corpses/bodies. this season also confirmed that their overall agenda is selling organs on the black market and population control by "taking out the trash" and getting rid of the poor people in their society.

The organ harvesting was an unsanctioned act in season 1 (arguably also in 2 hence why it's covert), so does it still count as a purpose of the game? Hubby and I have been debating this question.

I believe the selling organs is not what they are supposed to be doing but a side hustle. I actually wanted more answers in general on how It got started and the high rolling sharks using this game for their entertainment.

@@Ima_WakeI don’t think the VIPs are aware of the organ harvesting part of things. There are cameras watching the workers at all times, there was a scene in season one and season two that showed the workers putting the coffins in the crematorium, dropping them down a hidden chute and then the fire coming up as if the “body” is being burned, so this is definitely an unsanctioned secondary operation.

The only thing i did like about this season was we got to see more of the other side with the triangle,square and circle. And i think i laughed more. But when the new people in the game died i didn't feel anything like i did in season 1 i just didn't connect with anyone. I think the only person i like is the shooter #11.

Gi-hun got on my nerves this entire season. To have been through them games once before and to go into it AGAIN, but with no plan, an unrealistic expectation of getting a high number of people out, not using enough of his knowledge from his first go around AND not being cautious of Player 001 was all foolishness. And Officer Hwang is dumb as hell. Because how are you not realising that boat man is the mole and the reason you ain’t finding that island? And Netflix are messy. Because this is straight-up Squid Game 2: Part 1. And what they’re trying to say is ‘season 3’ is Squid Game 2: Part 2.

I agree with you Shamonda 💯 about not having the emotional attachment to the characters that I did for season one . I think that the character development was better in season one but also I don’t know if I’m just more emotionally closed off because I know that characters are going to die so why catch feelings? 🤷🏽‍♀️ aside from the recruiter part I think all scenes with the cop just felt like a different show altogether which sucked because he was so intriguing in season one. I’m kind of bummed that it is a season essentially split into two, but I am excited to see what season three will bring! Great review 😊

Hey sharonda! I love your reviews so much❤❤❤. The only thing I'm commenting on is when you said you wished the dream sequence had played out in the plot. In my opinion, it did do exactly that. It foreshadowed that our protagonist was not really going to know for sure what was going to be happening this time around. And directly right after that, it was a game he knew nothing about. They took away any advantages he already had and the game master himself kept a close eye on him. Just showing how little Gi-han actually knew about his real-time experience. I think if they actually showed the same games but added in a little bit of tricks to throw people off, it would have been less entertaining.

1. Gong Yoo ( Recruiter) looked SAF and Crazy.. Big fan! Loved him... 2. I think Gi Hun is actually changing.. I think he is actually addicted to the games and this can be hinted at twice.. the russian roulette game where he could have stopped and the shaman lady saying he was surrendered by bodies.. When Gi- Hun made the decision to withhold players from the night attack to attack the guards taht was the changing point.. he is becoming like them.. that is why 001 said you will make a small sacrifice for the greater good.. Also, Gi hun is no different from those people in the park.. he would choose the lottery ticket over the bread..

Sharonda I’ve been watching you since college girl! Hope all is well! But this season was trash lowkey. As someone who studied screenwriting in university, I felt the pacing was too slow, especially in the beginning. I didn’t expect it to be all about the games this season but I thought things would kick off and feel a bit more serious starting out. Also they used dialogue too much to give backstory when they could’ve taken advantage of flashbacks, and nightmares other than the ones Gi-Hun were having. And the ending ticked me off because he should’ve known the game maker was a snake way before that. Especially when the friend was spooked.

S2 blew me away! It impressed me bc yes I knew the world. But the twists were so dang smart that it brought soo many NEW elements to the show. And the commentary! My Gawd is it masterfully told and feels so current. Really shows that the globe is going through the exact same things together. No matter what country we are in! Just amazing entertainment!

I thought it was just ok. The first couple of episodes were slow with too much dialog. The forced "comedy" was not good. Some of scenes could have been a montage. It picked up in the later episodes, but the last episode good have been better since they left it as a cliffhanger.

Sharronda, I love ya down girl, BUT! This season was TRASH! It was basically a carbon copy with a few thrown in bits and pieces. The brand new characters not it the game were waaaayyyy too predictable (hell, the players IN the game were predictable). This season was rushed for no good reason.
