mabye no, try remembering the dark squids series. In second episode of that series inkura got Spider DNA and if I'm not mistaken Spider is part human to a small degree , If we assume that this type of vampire only infect the octoling of the inkling DNA. Inkura could be in control but can't turn into a squid because her inkling DNA because it has been infected and instead mabye she can turn into a bat.

Grellow could have been infected if that vamp didn't wear that gas mask, since inkura is bitten by that sneaky Patient Zero, they really need to find a cure or she will thrive for thirst and change sides. ON THE other hand, the two Spiders could have been body dead if the ink missile is loaded with a different ink colour, the two only got hurt because of the impact.
