After selling everything I could I'm left with a pile of literal shame that kills me every time i look at it and a mountain of debt. I still buy things but ive set myself a rule that as soon as a box is opened, it has to be built, painted and based until i can move on to the next box. So far its been working. I take about 2 weeks to finish a unit . So every 2 weeks i get to build and paint a new thing. Its kinda nice. I told myself, i cannot get old and die with gray unbuilt armies.

Eh, not saying this didn't raise an eyebrow for me, but, I don't think it's bad. He seems to he doing well (healthy, house not a mess) and, as long as it doesn't get him some financial trouble, it seems fine? Yeah, he can do with less, for sure. But, as long as he's responsible with it, can't fault him. I think it's comparable with people collecting books/vinyl records/wine/whiskey etc. Etc. I feel this is the kind of thing that happens when you got too much disposable income.

I realise for some its about being overwhelmed but I found it reaches a point they dont actually know what they have, making them not feel ashamed and kinda own how cool it was they had all this stuff was a good way to getting through a lot it from painting and playing, creating displays to storing the sealed boxes properly and even selling some stuff.

I'm a bit undecided on this video. On one hand, I love seeing all of the amazing kits and models, the history stored within the collection. On the other, the lack of organization or knowledge of what is there hurts. How many of the books have been read and how many are just decorations? How many games have been played, and how many just sit on the shelves? I also have a massive collection and backlog, but I know what I have, they're organized, I continue to paint them and get games in. I love seeing minis completed and ready for the table!

I had a fairly sizable collection of models at one point but sold all of it during a time when money was tight. Now I am older I try to limit my purchases to only what I am working on but recently I have allowed that to creep. My goal is to ensure I build and paint regularly. Set myself modest monthly targets of at least 1 unit a month. Does not always work but provided I come back to it I should get though it all eventually.

Great idea, I’ve slacked on my collection for many years now. I started in 3rd Ed 40K, when I didn’t have much money but friends I worked with at the time that got me into 40K. Then I got a better job and the buying part went up, but the playing time and build/painting suffered, and the friends were many states away so maybe once a year playing while on a vacation to their place. Now my collection of still in plastic wrapped boxes, still in the box, half built, or in primer is about 1/4 or 1/3 of the collection in this video; and that doesn’t include the board game wall I have. Basically I’ve seen game stores with less inventory lol. AoS Spearhead has given me a little bit of drive to try and get some small armies done, and hopefully Kill Team will do the same.

I am jumping from one colour scheme idea to the next, and the fact that I dont own a airbrush makes the task of painting them daunting. But after watching this video, and the sponge technique, I think I will just sit down and do it, maybe do a vibrant scheme.

This is quite heartwarming too, what a fun idea for a series. One of the things I'm most excited for is seeing you paint some of my favourite factions again, but to the colour scheme and style of the owner (like Tyranids 😄). Perfect excuse for lots of creative recolours haha! Actually may I make a suggestion please? - If the onwer has a specific style, would you and Lukas challenge each other to most closely replicate it? Perhaps a more interesting aim would be to have the most interesting version of the owners' style/who has "the best take on it". There is also so much potential for you to help them improve.

This video has me wishing that you would come and help folks out in the United States too. I have such a huge backlog because my job prevents me from getting time to paint, requiring lots of travel and overtime. Some day I want to get my minis all painted but when you've been collecting for more than 10 years and have thousands of miniatures (I think somewhere around 6,000 minis in total) that seems rather overwhelming.

I'll admit, I thought you were nuts when you said you weren't liking the peachy-colored flesh and wanted to switch to gray.. but, the gray looks pretty killer, too. (For the record, I absolutely love the peach.) Orange (my fav color) and green is my favorite color combo.. badass looking army, guys!

another example of why: Collecting Minis, Painting Minis and playing the games are 3 completely separate hobbies. This guy just happens to be heavy in all three.

There’s no shame at all if you are going to hoard something, then keeping collectibles that will always retain value is the best option
