It's wild to me how undervalued miniature painters are. Artists in other mediums charge roughly $100 USD an hour while miniature painters charge $1.50-$7.00 USD an hour?

That just means there isn't a really big market for having your mini;s pained by someone else, a lot people interested in mini's are in it at least in part for the hobbying, so that already eliminates a bunch of people in an already niche market.

@beric0bartman what art medium and/or type of art collection isn't "niche" and instead "mainstream"? Sure, there's a small collection of those breakout artists in every medium, but in general, professional miniature painters are highly undervalued and generally aren't taken too seriously in the world of fine art. That has slowly been changing in the last few years, but we have a long way to go.

Wow the 50€ one was shocking ! And the whole video is so humbling. I put my heart and soul into painting a Krieg General on horse, and here it would rank next to the 30€ paint job, no higher... Loved the video guys !

As we sent out 3d prints that are fragile. Them breaking in shipping is quite common. We just sucked at gluing it together, not the painters fault.

Honestly I guessed right away that the Ibai miniatures would be the best; just looking at the face and the eyes, plus the amazing pink metal; by far my favorite. I also guessed the 30 euro paintjob correctly, just because the face and feet weren't great, plus it had a bunch of dust on it. All great painters though!

Cool video guys, love it when you show off some of the other amazing artists out there. You should do a video where you each paint the same mini a few times to the standards you would expect from a 30$, 50$, 100$, 200$ commission. Send them to a friend of the channel that also paints mini's and get them to guess who did which paint job and for how much. Keep up the cool content and I'm trying so hard to save the money for all 3 of your paint sets

It's very hard, especially when you're starting out on Fiver, to value your own work -- and most artists are already self-conscious to begin with. You start thinking like, "If I charge this much, what if the client isn't happy with the result they get?" So yeah, it takes a while to find the right price.

Based on this video series, i contacted a commission painter. They showed real skills and they are local to me.... And it was crap. The price was far higher than the one in your video and the quality of the paintjob was sub par at best
