I just got one, sunburst as well. Mine came with a completely flamed/curly maple neck. Yeah sure you need to upgrade the nut at a minimum, the tuners aren’t great but, it’s a SOLID guitar. Going to throw in upgraded pups and a push pull pot for coil splits but yeah it’s an amazing semi hollow guitar for $300

Necessary mods or things to look out for It seems like people are pretty split on the pickups, I like Grunge music but I do dabble in a bit of everything. Now that you’ve had it for a bit does it stay in tune decently well or should I look into locking tuners.

@@grungelives not Really it was a really solid guitar when I had it for a few days. The pickups felt good from what I remember. They were a little bit too dark for me but I didn't hate them at all. I think the pickups are good "all arounder"

I just got one (same color and all) this past week and I love how it plays. I plan to put a Seymour Duncan Custom pickup in the bridge (as used by Blink-182 guitarist Tom DeLonge as of 2022) and a Pearly Gates in the neck position, but it’s not bad as is.

Good to hear a little heavier stuff on this too, looking for a semi hollow to get some better sustain for doom metal than a solid body, know you were saying it might or might not handle more extreme metal but so much of that dark, low doom tone is the amp, pedal and tuning hearing this I'm sure it'll handle it Also even with the maple construction it sounds a little less bright and a bit more punchy than a lot of other semi hollows I've seen for the price, love the offset design too So yh cheers between this and the playthrough really helped me decide on this being what I'm going with

I like gig bags over cases too! You know, that is something I never explored. I assume that they make oversize electric bags for hollow bodies??? I mean, that would make sense at least lol

Any gig bag for a bigger 335 should work. You need upper bout clearance at 13” and the bottom at 16” IIRC off hand.

One of my first guitars was a 2010 Squire affinity strat that I tossed a Gibson dirty fingers pickup in the bridge of. For the price, that strat carried me for years until I eventually upgraded to my PRS custom 24. I'd say that thing's neck played almost as nice as my fender custom shop neck. Which is high praise for a 190 dollar geetar

You don't have a bolt on neck on a semi-hollow guitar! They also can't match humbucker or bridge to Epiphone!

I got one just because I'm used to the longer scale length. I did swap the humbuckers but the bridge is just as good as any epiphone i've ever had.

So countersink the screws, sand the finish off the back of the neck and the neck pocket, glue it down, screw it down and clamp it. Wait a couple of days and either wood fill over the screws or remove them. Now it’s a set neck. Gonna be an issue if you desire to replace the neck
