Sloppy Joe your SPOT ON EXACTLY RIGHT! I upgraded my Neck with a Fender roasted maple 21 fret neck with a Nu-Bone nut and the jack plug was upgraded to a Fender jack plug and I upgraded the steel chrome saddles for the high quality brass saddles. The Blonde finish has poplar wood and maple roasted neck it’s all Fender now and it sounds great the ceramic pickups are cool and smooth! Soft neck pickup with the tight bridge pickup makes it best!

My first Tele was an Affinity. I bought it new in 2015 and it still had the toploader bridge. But I really liked it. It got me hooked on Teles. I bought three more after that and even sold my Strat. I'm a Tele guy now! : )

I have this one for sale! Installed a Mojotone salderless wiring kit and American Vintage tuners and A Yosemite bridge pickup! New fender control plate and fender knobs! It’s on EBay and Reverb black! Serial number comes up as limited Run!

So you got two different guitars there or what? You show string through body at one point but the one you show the most is a top loader.

Once again joe's reviews surprise me! Digging the format of a tone test vid seperate from a spec vid!

@@SloppyJoes_ShredShack That classic iconic legendary spank and twang you were referring to about the telecaster doesn't come from the neck pickup it comes from the bridge pickup.
@SultanOfTwang19562 жыл бұрын
@@SloppyJoes_ShredShack I do hope at some point along the way that you've come to realize that both the Squier Bullet as well as the Squier Affinity line are for the most part specifically manufactured and marketed with the beginning guitarist in mind. That being said naturally of course you're not going to get the premium hardware, electronics, and the tuners no doubt always suck royal shit, so duh on all counts, but they are entry-level instruments nothing more nothing less. Lastly that time honored spank and twang in the telecaster you kept saying wasn't really there comes from the bridge pickup not from the neck position.

One last comment, the pickups are very good with moderate output.

If you find the neck pickup to bassy, take the chrome cover off it will be much louder and more strat sounding neck pickup. just a great guitar. this is better than my Tribute tele by G&L

There is a screw on either end of the neck pickup for adjustment on the Affinity I just bought a few days ago. There is a lot to be said about the distance from the strings to the pickups on guitars with single coils. Matter of fact its critical. Loosen the strings and take a pencil and get some lead in the grooves to lube the nut slots. Stock strings suck on all new guitars. Its a joke the guitar manufactures play on their new customers just like harley does with their seats on their new bikes. Its all designed to get you used to spending some money on your new toy. Most manufacturers want you to get in that habit real quick.

I bought an Affinity Telecaster last year, new for $199.95. It is an exceptional guitar. Mine doesn't have the string-through on the back, that's the only difference in this years model.
@bikeman1rm3963 жыл бұрын
What tuners would you use to replace these stock ones? Thanks
@adriyanmusic3 жыл бұрын
Buy fender Texas tele pickups , change tuners and there you go good looking guitar and still will cost less than any Fender ... one thing that can make me to buy tele is only if the neck is very much curved like the old days its is something that makes Telecaster special ...

Hmm. My 2017 Affinity Tele has a top-loading bridge, and the neck pickup mounted on the body.
@martinschillings16893 жыл бұрын
That's right for that production periode - but they changed a few specs in 2018. The current models are back to top loading bridges and the bodies are made of poplar...

i ended up solving the problem by going with a humbucker in the neck. this telecaster custom is a pretty good setup and doesn;t get the acknowledgement that it deserves
