I agree. These Indonesia-made Squiers give the Mexican-made instruments a real run for the money. Out of the box, I think the Classic Vibes sound, play, and feel better than the Mexican-made lines. There's some room for improvement with Classic Vibe electronics, however.

Great demo. I like the way it starts out by carefully explaining the guitar’s features in a way that even a total beginner will understand. Very smart. Then it carefully shows off the many tonal options available using very clean tones, before finally cranking up the gain and rocking out a bit. Fun stuff.🤘

I bought Chinese made CV 50's Strat (2 tone burst like this one) about 4 years ago - for about $100 less than they go for now and we were saying it then... they punch above their weight - if you snooze you lose. Based on the quality a year ago I bought the Indonesian made 50's CV Tele in Butterscotch - 9.5 lbs of squirrel fed pine -I LOVE it.....BUT just before the warranty wears out it's going in for factory service because of fret sprout and actual 9th fret pulling off the board after the string went off edge and caught it. That's a first on any of my dozen guitars and 5 decades of playing. The older Chinese made Squier is still mint...just saying. Thankfully I live in N Hollywood where I can pick and choose a great authorized luthier but what a pain. 🎸

@@creedel Just saying "sandpaper" is way too vauge. In my experience the easiest way to get a gloss finished neck feeling great is Scotch Brite pads. They're in every grocery store, it's a yellow sponge with a green abrasive material on top. You take that green material and go over the back of the guitar neck evenly, not too much, a little goes a long way. I like Scotch Brite pads because the process is reversible. You just get a really nice polish and it will bring the gloss back pretty quickly.

@@craigsbuyer2270 That's like ages back man, and "countless"? Idt so. The reality is that Squier players get a lot of shit these days, and has been for some time, just for playing a Squier, even big channels like Music is Win has dissed Squier players, just because it's more affordable than the Fender branded ones, which therefore draws the attention of the beginners. I personally feel that Fender should promote the Squier sub brand through more notable guitarists from the indie rock scene if that can help to clear its name from being a "beginner's guitar".

@@Littleton3513 I agree with you man, I really like the Affinity and the Classic Vibes series. But my point is that whenever anyone plays a Squier, even if they have remastered the guitar with better pickups and have furnished the fingerboard, they are still dismissed by snobs, who happen to be most of the people in the Fender community. For them, the Squier logo on the headstock is all that matters, and they are going to dismiss you even if have been playing for 30 years or they're just gonna assume that you're broke. This is fueled by these KZbin channels who regularly use Squiers as a joke machine. I mean look at this comment section alone, you'll find most people saying "I love my Squier guitars as much as I love my...(whatever high end guitar)" or "I have been playing my Squier for.... whatever years...and I really like it". It is only because the Fender guitar community has conditioned everyone into thinking that Squiers are beginners or are no good, which inturn makes the Squier players write comments to prove this community wrong, and that Squiers can actually make a valuable contribution to the community. The only way this can be fixed is if Fender decides to step in and does something about it.
