I'm at Gael in my hitful SL1 run and, honestly, that Carthus bloodring helps a lot with the trailing cape attacks. The wiki says it increases the roll s by 3, wich seems like an insignificant difference, but it's very noticeable in practice. I'm having better results fast rolling and sacrificing defense than I have when wearing a full armor set and rings that boost absorption. Still getting wrecked, though.

About a month ago I tried to do an all-bosses SL1 run in DS3 and just couldn't cut it, I managed to beat every boss except Nameless King and the DLC bosses. I of course got hit and killed countless times, especially fighting bosses like Champion Gundyr, Dragonslayer Armor and Soul of Cinder. It just goes to show that persistence and determination sometimes aren't enough, to do something like this, you just gotta be hardboiled in hot molten skill. Kudos!
