Have had my squirrelbuster feeder for 5 years now. Love it! It really works. Squirrels have even tried chewing away the holes. Seed stays fresh even in our Southern humidity. Highly recommended.

I bought a plus, a standard and an classic at a garage sale for $10. All in great shape. The classic needed a new steel cable. Called their customer service, no questions asked, they made the order to send me a replacement top. Fantastic customer care. And these feeders have already busted my squirrels.

I bought one, absolutely love it. The squirrels absolutely hate it. Watching them get frustrated is as much fun as watching the birds. I bought a second one, double my fun.

This feeder is well made, it’s sturdy and easy to use and yes when a squirrel gets on the feeder closes just like it says. However Starlings, grackles, and blue Jays have no problem emptying out this feeder in a few hours or less and adjusting the weight sensitivity does nothing. They hang on feeder and fling seed out with their beaks all over the ground and just them being on feeder causes feeder to sway and spill seed out. The squirrels, pigeons and other birds are able to eat the seed off the ground without the effort of getting it out of the feeder themselves!

This is probably more cost effective than that carousel bird feeder considering it was battery operated while this one here had simpler construction and no need for battery maintenance

Thanks for your feedback. Cornell Lab of Ornithology recommends using black oil sunflower seeds in tube feeders - this is what we use when designing and testing our feeders. Ok, I have a balcony with bars, and I have a non squirrel proof feeder between bars, will it work with about 5 cm space if the squirrel climbs up the bar?(sry this is a bit complicated.......)

We have fox squirrels that now knock the perches out of our Squirrel Buster feeders. The squirrels don't get at the seed, but they make the feeders useless for the birds. It appears I have to call to order perches, but if I replace them they won't last a day. Introduced species. The other native squirrels here never caused this problem.

Use JB Weld, marine - grade to secure the perches into the base. Stuff is strong, but you will have a very hard time getting the perches out if you ever want to.

Can starling get onto this? And can you feed mixed seed with suet pellets in it ?

Hi Helena, if you adjust the spring tension or remove the perches, you should be able to shut off Starlings. Mixed seed with suet pellets, nuts and dried fruit might not flow as easily as plain sunflower seeds.
