I think everyone is missing the point with makstrom pulse. I’m pretty sure it exists in this deck to kill all your squirrels and get big cut throat damage

I think they wiffed with this upgrade cutting all the squirrel token generators and claming things cost alot of mana because they just crippled the commander

Agreed. I was surprised by the complaints about mana costs. I've had games where I was barely tapping my lands because I had a decent number of tokens to get mana from

Nested Shambler you pump it with Chatterfang = you double your tokens. You kind of missed it :D

26:25 The biggest token this deck makes is the 10/10 eldrazi token. Made using Idol of Oblivion.

witherbloom is 7 mana add 40 mana... so if you have any activated abilities , drain and gain effects... one turn cycle and all your opponents are dead . now I don't know what the precon has exactly but in my ghave deck it's HUGE. also the commander makes a bunch of mana so definitely cards with activated abilities or X or XX spells as a pay off would be a good include. yes there's a token factor but the card is a ramp spell. ramp into game enders asap!

Add Ygra eater of all, all creatures are now considered to be Food, which means when you play the dictate of erebos and you cause someone to sacrifices a creatures it’s also a good so Mirkwood bats would see it.

Yes, added this card and has paid it self back a couple times already. Lucky to pull it on my first pack I opened.

Unfortunately, it makes them food but not food tokens, so Mirkwood would not care.

@@GuysThatMagic but the deck generates a lot of tokens so now all your token would be food tokens, ☺️ I used Mirkwood bats and made x amount of squirrel tokens and they are also foods so you feed Ygra which also gives you a big hitter and also triggers Mirkwood, I know the token do that anyway, but just a good big creature to stomp with.

Yes but you can still create insane amounts of tokens for advantage, turn tokens into food, sac them as pitless plunderer is out, get life, treasure and your token back, @@GuysThatMagic

I kept beledros, I find it triggers chatterfang quite a bit and then using saw in half and you have two blocker, though tbh. I use it on guilded goose.

If you have decent food generation, Haywire Mite combos really, really hard with Hazel's Brewmaster. Exile it from your graveyard with Hazel, and enjoy having Food that can remove strong Equipment and Enchantment across the table for dirt cheap. With Hazel ability to generate tons of mana from tokens, I added Exsanguinate. Beledros can also help building a strong Exsanguinate and maybe even finish the game. I would not remove Maelstrom Pulse tbh. Point is to decimate your own squirrel army after a while and stack damage from marionette apprentice and cut throat and bastion etc.... This can be a win condition if done correctly

having an efficient/ card advantage sac outlet would probably be better than maelstrom pulse if using for that purpose . i want my removal to be instant speed so if my opponent goes for a win on their turn I can actually interact . can't count how many games i've lost because i couldn't play at instant speed

Cutting Chatterstorm is foolish. Look at the commander's keyword abilities again. Every token is mana! How is that slow in a token deck?

it makes one token per spell cast.... you have to have alot of setup to make it work and at that point... play an x spell

So question, as tikens technically enter the graveyard as yhey dont stay there are they also considered as a card leaving the graveyard? Just need clarification on this for a strategy

When a token dies, it goes to the grave and does not exist any longer. So it’s recognized as going to the grave but that is it.

I was surprised too, but I went a different way. Since maskwood nexus is included the deck, I noticed there was some spiders, I added Shelob as a lil tech to give spiders deathtouch and ward 2.
