Why do they use potato starch instead of powdered sugar Emmy? The only mochi I've had so far has been in the kids kits. Well we adults like them too but you know what I mean lol.😉 Sadly they weren't very good. I think Aldi's sells some now so I hope to try them from there next. I got a brownie recipe off the back of a Baker's Chocolate bar package. That was yummy too. We like to undercook them so they're gooey. Thanks Emmy!😍🍙🍫

I'm an Edge Brownie person. I have a confession to make- when I make a tin of brownies, I cut all the edges off, thinly, while it's still warm and eat them all myself. Then I cut the remaining centre portion into brownies and give them away as usual, no one has ever noticed that no brownies have edges or there's no corner pieces. I feel good for sharing this with whoever reads this comment. Thank you.

Just a tip (if you don't already know it) if you toss the chocolate chips or nuts in a tablespoon of flour first they won't sink to the bottom of the batter. Also to keep parchment paper from flipping over use the metal binder clips that offices use for stacks of paper. Since its metal they won't melt in the oven and can be reused.

The brownies that made me famous among my bf’s friends are 1 box Ghirardelli + 1 box cheap brownies + extra chocolate chips (made according to directions) and cooked in an 8*8 until toothpick 1 inch from the edge is clean. If you want them even fudgier, you can steal Alvin’s method to wrap it in foil out of the oven and stick in the freezer for 30 minutes to condense them.

The dip that shows up after a cake/brownie comes out of the oven is due to too much leavening. It rises too quickly in the oven and then can't hold its form as it's cooling and collapses. Scrapping the side only makes it easier to get it out of the pan. And I'm a brownie person. Edge or center, don't care. Just brownie. Lol
@Courtney9833 жыл бұрын
Hello! Just some friendly thoughts. :) I disagree with your comment about the leavening agent. It may be accurate for this specific recipe.. but proper recipes still need to be edged after coming out of the oven if not properly greased. I’ve been baking brownies from scratch for over 5 years in a bakery and have tested many theories. My perfect slabs are lined with parchment, but still greased with cocoa and a fat. If the brownie edges are glued to the sides of the pan, the middle will deflate as it has nowhere to pull cool air from as the hot air is being released. If the sides won’t go in…. the top definitely will! Agree/disagree?? Would love to hear your thoughts as you sound knowledgeable!!
