THE GREAT BRITISH STEAM TRAIN CON ??? What's the point of PAYING for a steam train ride, when that Diesel on the rear is clearly doing all the strenuous work ???? So you will NOT hear the steam loco slogging its way up the hill from Weymouth to Upwey, showing what its capable of !!!! Indeed this method of operation is hardly "GREEN" with two locos creating pollution, when only one is needed to haul the train !!!

Whilst I largely agree with your point that such use of a diesel is unfair on passengers and not the best for the environment, there are often many factors at play regarding their use. In this instance the use was due to an earlier lineside fire nearby. However I am with you in hating diesels and their use on railtours lol. Regards, Dan
