SR 34067 Tangmere Chases 5043 over Shap on the Winter Cumbrian Mountain Express 16/3/24.

SR 34067 Tangmere would be at the helm of the latest Winter Cumbrian Mountain Express from London Euston to Carlisle via the West Coast Mainline over Shap . We first see 34067 approaching Shap Summit and the Summit around fifteen minutes behind 5043 Earl of Mount Edgcumbe on the Shap Mountaineer railtour. .Thanks to Nige for the company today.

Great work today Steve. I'm not a GWR man but to me the Castle was more impressive with nine on, than Tangmere with eleven and the 47 flat out. By the way, what are Network Rail growing on the both embankments at the summit - flood lights?

Great footage but a pity the diesel was doing so much of the work. Thats not the sound of a Battle of Britain at full cry. and especially with 11 on!!!. I would be mortified if i paid good money to be pushed by a diesel.

yeah. its getting pathetic now. 110 quid for a standard class ticket on a steam+diesel 'steam' tour. 1st class on german/french tours costs about that and flights to europe are dirt cheap...
