Lovely shots Nige, great to see 34046 working hard on Shap. One of the best Bulleids in my opinion.

Thanks David, yes she was certainly putting in a great performance on Shap, just a shame the severe wind was from behind us which restricted the sound until close to us but the visual effect was there all the way up, cheers nige👍

Nige, It's been a bit of Bulleid weekend what with two on Shap and the vast collection at Swanage. Unfortunately I didn't get to see any of them so thanks for sharing the Northern portion, Regards, John

Great video Nige in what turned out to be another windy day but at least the rain stayed away. I ended up at Greenholm for the outward legs where there were a few people about.

Thanks Alistair, yes and a severe wind it was, that’s why I cut some footage out as there was no sound at all in parts and as you said no rain which was a bonus, I wouldn’t say it was over busy with folk, cheers 👍

Excellent and this event on Shap does not occur too often. Credit to LSL for painting their diesels in a variety of different past liveries and now a 57 with what appears to be a BR mixed traffic paint job?👍
@nige75777 ай бұрын
Thanks Stephen, yes not something you’d expect to happen nowadays but good for us, apparently it’s in the LNWR/BR style lined black livery which Waterman Railways fleet were in in the mid nineties, cheers 👍

Thanks for the BOGOF here - two West Country/BB in close succession. Now that begs the question, was the rebuilt better than the original - certainly both were stunning in this video - I rather like the unrebuilt version for its quirkiness and for sheer "let's try it and see if it works" approach. However, the rebuilt was a lot easier to maintain and operate. We are very lucky in having examples of both types still in use on the main line. Great video at some of your favourite locations.

Many thanks Stewart, it’s always good to see what the performance difference is between the two although Tangmere was pulling the Northern Belle stock which is a much heavy train which is why she was getting more assistance than Braunton, a few years back you’d never believe that you’d see two SR locomotives going over Shap with eight minutes of each other, cheers 👍
