I compliment you not only on the content but also the production values of this video. This is a masterclass in how to produce engaging, entertaining, clear concise content. The speech rate is perfect in my opinion. Many other videos seem like they are on a caffeine high and sometimes require significant slowdown simply to become comprehensible. If the video has to be time compressed, don't speak faster, say less. The backing music track is also perfect. The music is complementary in many ways - it complements the speech in volume and does not compete, the tonal content of the music is sparse where the speech tones are so that the music does not tonally mask the speech, and the music choice has the appropriate moods to follow the content rather than draw attention to itself. Thoroughly enjoyable. Thank you.

I have read a good amount of the comments and would like to add my own thoughts. There is the Aurora project that got leaked in the one budget year due to someone's error. There not much to go on except the speculations. Next item that I like to mention is the California earthquake sensor array. They can tell how strong, depth, and what kind of earthquake (there are several different types of earthquakes depending on the fault line). The array has been able to detect the shock waves caused by breaking the sound barrier. Because of the shock waves regularity, the scientists have build up a database and compared it to other know shock wave earthquakes and it does not match any past know aircraft signature. With the signature, there is the direction of shock waves, which give trajectory to the Gloom lake area. Next item for me is what a few comments already mentioned it the retirement of a system. The military does not like to retire something unless there is a replacement on hand. Case in point is the A-10 Warthog. There is the on going debate when to retire and what platform will replace the A-10. I have not seen any platform that can truly replace the A-10 on survivability and weapons systems for close ground combat support. I have seen images of the damage the A-10 can take and still keeps flying. Satellites and UAV/RVP: Yes there are those eyes in the sky, BUT there is a couple problems that most people do not think about or do not know. Unless the satellite is station in a fixed obit over a destinated area in question, it takes time to shift the satellite's orbit to pass over the area in question. As far as UAV/RPVs, it takes time to get them in place if they are not in the area area in question. They are slower but have a long range (this depends on the aircraft). So, there is a gap in the various platforms in use that we are aware of. Last item: people have been recording unusual aircrafts for years and the military is just releasing some of their older files to the public. With all the recent sighings of this one type/style of aircraft and area that the sights are occurring, I am sure it is the replacement or series of aircrafts to replace the SR-71 program. People tend to look at just one item/fact and forget about all the other items/facts. I tend to look at the bigger picture.

What news the public gets is 20+ years behind what the military are already using! There is rumoured to be a plane that's been flying for many years and does mach 6, Aurora spy plane was talked about around the time the SR-71 retired, Some have reported hearing strange noises and booms and seeing spiral contrails, Maybe that's it and we will learn of it as they move onto yet another project. I spoke with a friend of my brother's who was fueling jets and planes for the US, UK and Canada back in Desert Storm at some remote air strip in Saudi near to the front lines; when he told one night, in short notice, that a Jet was landing very soon that it needed fuel and to not snoop around it but fuel it and to let it leave. So they stood by their fuel truck in midst of the Jet noise and planes coming and going when they got orders to "just fuel damn plane" over their head sets. They turned to see a jet they didn't hear land or come up behind them. They quickly fueled it and it rolled away and was gone in the night. He said it might have been F22 or something else being tested for stealth but it was night time and runways were basically in blackout. It was very quiet for a jet and like nothing he had seen before from what he could see. He had seen F117 and fueled a couple of them, so the knew them to see them. So, who knows what they test on there. They have been seeing how well it could drop a bomb in real time or simply testing it sensors over an actual field war to how will they actually function, again who knows.

One thing about the sr-72 carrying missiles, is that if the door opens to fire that missile, and it does not close, the whole aircraft is in jeopardy, and I think the best way to fire these missiles is the fire them backwards and let the missile do the turning, once you open up a door on something moving at Mark 6 you're going to encounter a lot of heat a lot of drag, and this thermal signature will increase significantly

That video, along with the comment of a NASA employee, explained that it was to control (ON/OFF) the internal flight data recording tapes NASA equipped in it. So called because anything and everything that went on in flight, was recorded, and could "tattle" on you if you left anything out... Which happened to be the case when the pilots tried to push it too hard, resulting in a twin flameout, which they reported! The tapes were recording though, and had shown that as they pushed up around that point, engine's -turbines- stalled -and killed the engines-. It wasn't until they eventually (probably only a matter of moments) slowed down enough that they managed to restart them... 😓 lol So while the Libya story's pilot might've felt it had more go left in it, reality (and physics) might've had other plans! Granted, I suppose it could be a unique quirk of NASA's particular bird, but... we already know how incredibly impressive a feat it already was, just for it to _reliably_ go Mach 3.6! 😁 Though, I think the aerodynamic design of her is certainly capable of more, but whether other aspects of it are, is another matter. 🥴 _[edit: corrected my goof up about engines cutting out at high Mach due to "turbine stall", when they would've been operating in RAMJet mode; thanks to Nightwing for pointing that out.]_

Turbine stall? In the high mach numbers the engines are operating as ramjets.
@DUKE_of_RAMBLE2 жыл бұрын
@@nightwing9670 I'll assume that's in reply to my comment... Your right, yes, and I'm pretty sure the comment on the video I mentioned, had said "engine stall" and I erroneously added "turbine". (it's sometimes late at night when I'm commenting) In fairness, I did say "flame out" before that, so it's still correctly conveyed that the engines had cut-out. But yea, it's massively different and unlikely if it had been reported as turbine in nature, meaning I'm reaching in order to cover my oops lol Nevertheless, I still humbly admit and own my goof. Good catch!

I think we’re on the verge of this bird being unveiled sometime in 2023, or early 2024. I remember the B-2 Spirit’s roll out…what was it, back in ‘88-‘89? & soon after this…the ATF competition within a couple of years. The Raptor v The Blackwidow. Today, we now have Northrop Grumman’s Raider. Soon enough we’ll see Lockheed following suit. It was definitely a great era for U.S. Air Defense & Deterrence.

@@tumslucks9781 I heard that it was because of a window of envirmental factors that allowed the aircraft to reach Mach 4. 6:40 If it’s just like the SR-71 (including the “SR” designation) it won’t have any weapons at all. The SR-71 had no weapons because it could fly faster than any munitions. This means that not only could it outrun the weapon systems of other aircraft, but it could outrun its own weapons. In other words, it flew so fast, it could shoot itself down by running into its own bullets after it fired them.
@maxpruett96372 жыл бұрын
Ah no. The reason missiles can't catch it is the distance to target. That takes time and fuel. As far as running into own bullets....gravity works and so does inertia

I think, that the Kinsal would not stand in the way of developing an SR-72. Especially since hypersonic missiles are not new tech. There is more to those than just burning more fuel in less time but DARPA demonstrated Mach 10 flights 20 years ago with scramjets which are way harder to manage than rockets. But that doesn't mean the SR-72 project hadn't been shelfed...

I drove around for an hour looking for something but didn't find anything.
