Lots of cutting and welding in this one! Engine mounts are fabricated and installed. Despite me probably making it harder than it needed to be, the learning curve finally came full circle. Still, the motor sits really nicely in the car. Next step transmission!

What rubber engine mounts did you use for this? I've been trying to source some just like those for my build

E30 bmw rubber mounts, super cheap from any local auto parts store

How did you know how high to sit the motor in regards to having it line up good with the tunnel and the diff?

Benjamin Freund I’ll be honest it was a lot of test fitting and a pretty good guess. You will absolutely have to beat the transmission tunnel larger to fit the bell housing in there comfortably too. If you are cutting off the crossmember mount towers and doing motor mounts like I did, with the mounts flat on the crossmember, then you could do some measuring to get the oil pan flush with the crossmember. Measure how far the bottom of the crossmember is from the top of the crossmember (straight up and down) where your motor mounts will sit. Then you could put the motor on the ground (set it on the oil pan and balance it) and from the ground add that length plus the thickness of your motor mounts and that will tell you about where your new motor mount has to stick out to get the pan not to hang down really far. It’s just the s14 5 speed that usually comes with the motor

@@NotForDowntowners cool thanks I also want to do an sr20 swap on a Corolla I didn't know which gearbox I could use coz in my country we have little to no rwd sr20 powered cars
