SRAM's new GX Transmission is quite a lot cheaper, but how does it compare to X0 and XX? Here's a comparison between SRAM's 2024 Eagle Transmission

This is really good to know. I have been away from the biking scene for the last 7 years, but I am currently researching bike companies for my next enduro bike, and piecing together parts I would like to have on the bike. I have noticed that there are so many new components, so many different component names, and finding this transmission thing has been all new to me, and to be honest, a little bit confusing. But I know the SRAM transmission is something I would like to have, as I see my new bike as something I don't really want to upgrade for the life of the bike, unless I have to. The price difference between the GX and the XX transmission from SRAM is pretty significant, so its really good to know that the GX system performs just as good as the XX version. My enduro bike will be ridden 95% downhill, so weight in grams does not matter to me.

I do like the way Sram located the battery in the GX it gives me a better sense of my battery not falling off, and it makes the system look more compact. I do have the old GX AXS in one bike and the new GX transmission in my E-bike and honestly both systems work just fine!!

How would you compare the durability after the amount of miles you’ve put on them? Is it better than the traditional AXS(non T-type)?
@LaT1NaS010 ай бұрын
The clutch on the old GX AXS was horrible and caused a lot of chain slap, assuming there is no difference in the clutch compared to the XX and XO this definitely seems like the better option. The hardest test is seeing what they are like long term. SRAM talks about the durability of these new drivetrains, time will only tell i guess.
@Chunky2467 ай бұрын
But it wasn't so much the clutch (yes it's a bit weak), its the fact that the whole DR flops around as there is no cable housing anymore to hold it in place.

The price difference between the non ebike groupsets is even worse. I mean 1180 for AXS GX T-Type vs 1700 for the AXS X0 T-Type. Today on ebay I spotted 1 discounted AXS X0 for 1400 delivered, BUT that is still £220 more for zero performance and very little weight saving. I also much prefer the newer GX AXS hidden/more protected battery design. ONLY thing I like more with the X0 is the cranks with the cut out section in them.
