I love how this used to be a v2.1 mod and it got repurposed into a challenge level. Can't say I blame you guys, it was pretty cool even in v2.1. Love the remade layout, too, it's much more alive and sprawling.

Love this level. Went directly to play this after having beaten the main campaign for the first time in ages and it was nice to have a level that was decently challenging but not unforgiving. Great visuals, fantastic music, probably my favourite challenge level.

It's just simple blinking floor mechanics; set timer, cycling flats, yada yada. No pre-flip cues like in most other iterations of the mechanic, though. Sucks that it forces you to slow all the way down for it, but A. that's been a thing across all Sonic games, and that's just how it is, and B. you COULD just play a character who can cheat the entire damn thing, like Tails or Knuckles.

Sonic and Tails approach the entrance to some pretty spooky industrial ruins. Tails looks to be having second thoughts. "Are you sure this is the place, Sonic?" "Matches Knuckles' description. Goofy Halloween schtick, broken down buildings, it checks every box." "Okay..." Sonic and Tails charge in to find the mysterious fallen object. "What's this?" Having arrived at roughly the location (judging by the large crater), the duo finds _not_ an object, but a hole at the bottom of the crater. At the bottom is a small room with one of those teleporters from Angel Island. Sonic and Tails look at each other, nod, and take the teleporter.

At first, I absolutely DESPISED this stage, but as I played it more, I began to appreciate it more and more. (Those Pumpkaboo enemies still annoy me though...)

The Cacodemon ones? I think they're easy as hell; if you're not actively attacking them their projectiles are too slow to hit you while you move through the level, and even if you go at them directly, they take long enough to fire another projectile that you can just dodge the first and immediately jump at them. Nah, my least favorite part is the blinking platforms. It's great platforming, and I love that thr pit doesn't kill you, but god does it force you to slow to a halt. It's annoying to get around if you're trying to go fast, which you will be cuz it's a Sonic game.
