In my opinion, some international media seem to be introducing him as a Marxist, but that is wrong because he is the leader of the National People's Power or NPP. Hence, he is responsible for implementing the “NPP Action Plan”. NPP is a front of patriotic citizens of all nationalities, and all members of NPP are progressive-minded, so they are moderate people with no extreme views. He could be like the founder of modern China-the late Hon. Deng Xiaoping, who came from the Chinese Communist Party, Deng traveled around the world and learned a lot, especially from Singapore, studied the governance systems of other countries, and established a successful system with Chinese characteristics in China, and today China is the second largest economy in the world.

@@Lakshane Thanks!It is too early to criticize the NPP because I need time for it, so I think it is fair to say something about the NPP after a year or two, so as a moderate citizen, I should be an observer. In my case, I focus on policies and how to implement policies for the benefit of the common people of my country, so there is no point in using idle words now. As a citizen who lives with the people in the village, I personally know how people struggle to survive, so I have a good practical understanding of it. "The people of our village are really suffering!" So, like many people who love my Motherland, I also need time to observe/understand NPP programs, so I believe it is necessary to give them a chance. "Men should be judged by actions, not words"

Hello Al Jazeera, what you give as news is wrong. Anura Kumara had been a 2 year old in 1971 insurrection. Even in 1982 he had been in a child grade three. Anura Kumara Dissanayaka has never had history of violence as a person. JVP had a violent past when AKD was merely a child. That violence of JVP was because rural youth did not have opportunities and when they demanded justice, then government played a deaf ears to the pleas of rural youth. AKD got enrolled in the university in 1994 and soon after he got graduated in 1998 he was affiliated to his party as a politician. During that time he worked as a minister in Chandrika government. Although AKD was appointed as the leader by the previous leader of his party, he as a person has never had a violent past. AKD knows Sri Lankans don’t like full blown Marxism. That is why his new coalition has adjusted their policies. AKD is not a fake leader who follows the ideology of Prince by Machiavelli . Therefore, he doesn’t show off his power but is interested to find deep rooted cause of problems. The world should know our politicians so far have been shamefully leading a luxurious life using the most expensive vehicles on earth and drawing two government salaries which is not allowed to normal people. The whole country appointed AKD so that we need transparency and accountability in the country. Sri Lanka’s middle class especially keen to lead a life of integrity. They look forward to pay all debts and to have a debt free country for all children and future generations.
