Sri Lanka Surfing - Mirissa

The right point at Mirissa beach in Sri Lanka is known as Urchin Feast by the locals and for good reason.... we saw quite a few people doing the 'urchin hop' back up the beach during our stay. Care should be taken particularly with entry and exit but also if you are late on the wave and end up going straight where you find yourself in the shallows to the left.
Footage is from several sessions shot over a 2 day period at the end of our trip. One session was shot without a tripod from the restaurant on the beach where we were having lunch, I hadn't intended it but had my camera in my bag so made the most of it with an improvised knee tripod :-) The lighting was difficult as very flat for most of the sessions so I did the best that I could.
I'm stoked with the result, it was a joy to watch the surfing on show and edit it. Certainly my best effort to date and I think I did a decent job of capturing some of the great surfing.
I continue to learn :-)
