Complete Srimat Bhagavatam published by ISKCON is divided into 18 volumes but Bhagwat Puran published by Gita Press is divided into two volumes. Although Srimat Bhagavatam and Bhagwat Puran are the names of the same scriptures. But can you tell the reason why one is divided into 18 volumes and another is divided into two volumes?

I have no idea about the Gita Press version. But here at Iskcon, Srila Prabhupada has systematically divided this huge Purana into small fragments. And that is very clear to understand All I can say, give it a go and your life will never be the save. Hare Krishna 🙏

Gita press Bhagvatam includes only slokas and their meanings but this includes slokas their translations and Purports ( Commentary and true authentic explaination as per Acharyas of Bonafide Guru Shishya Parampara)

Yes. You can start with Bhagavad Gita. Once you complete reading Gita then you can start with Srimad Bhagavatam Canto 1(which is available online/offline). Note: Only Canto 1 of Srimad Bhagavatam can be bought separately. But the remaining 11 cantos can't be bought separately. For that you have to purchase the full volume.
