I’ve been a huge Titleist fan all my life, went for a fitting for the srixon irons and hit them extremely well.. just ordered a combo set: Pw-7i z785 and 4i-6i z585. I also went for the lighter 105g shaft as i was more comfortable with them. Cannot wait to get them!

I have 765s 6-Pw and 5 in 565. I absolutely love them. So much feel, easy to hit and the 5 iron is a rocket launcher!

I bought a Z545 driver as a demo in a pro shop....used it a few rounds...tried to adjust the club head and the screw got damaged when I tried to put it back together....This club was already a couple of years old......but Srixon Canada.....came through said my year started when I bought it and ended up replacing the whole club for a Z765 at no costs...This is a company that stands by its products

Never really considered Srixon always been a Titleist man, until I tested them, performance was excellent as was dispersion. Ordered a set of Z585, best irons I’ve hit in a long time.

I have a set of Z765's. My other set is the "super game improvement" JPX900 hot metal. I like both sets but if anything the Z's are more consistent across the face, and don't balloon as much into the wind. And they feel miles better.

I got a Z585/Z785 combo set and couldn't be happier.....I'm coming from 2 sets of pxg for point of reference.... 1st time in awhile hitting 5i high and 180+
@RangaPirate5 жыл бұрын
Where did you split the combo? 3,4,5,6 and 7,8,9, PW? If so, how do you find the 5° gap between 6 and 7 irons? Noticeable?

Great review. THANK YOU for the sound demo as well. I moved from the 765 to the 785 iron, and I believe you are underestimating the difference in appearance. The 785's have been trimmed down a lot and thankfully now are the size of the Titleist CB iron. This is a substantial reduction because my 765's were a chunky girl. That always bugged me, even though they are excellent sticks..

Gamed the 785s for a season and no plans to change. They still look sharp and very hard to beat the value..

Z 585 first set of Srixon's I've owned. Kicking myself that I've never considered this brand earlier in my golfing 'career'. If you have never given Srixon ownership much thought I would strongly encourage that you do

One of the more thorough reviews of irons I've seen, yet condensed into a very manageable viewing time. Love all the data, but also seeing and hearing the actual shots as well. Well Done

I just spent 2hrs at club champion, I hit 5-6 different heads after we got the shaft dialed in. For me the 585 were just superior for my needs, on the trackman the numbers we're the best and the look.and feel are top notch. Now I have to wait two weeks.

I have the Z585s and I ended up choosing those over the 785s purely for forgiveness and for me I think it was a great decision because my iron consistency has increased dramatically and I feel more confident now every time I pull one out that I’m going to hit the green or be very close

Srixon get my vote as the most underrated golf brand (apart that is from Japan) and these new Irons look stunning! If I can find a fitting centre that stock them I will defo give them a try.

Go to the Srixon web site to find this and save time. The past weekend the guy next to me had a set of Z565's and let me hit his 7-iron. I came away really impressed with the feel and consistency and plan to go to a shop the next town over to give the line a full test.

Just been fitted today and bought the 785 4-pw I thought about the 585 for 4,5,6 but the feel wasn’t there in the 585 but the feel in the 785 was unreal with 177 carry with a 7iron and 123mph swing speed , nice high launch with good spin compared to my Taylormade MB tour preferred with s300 gold stiff shaft !

definitely underrated club - the 785 are stunning irons and their previous blades are gorgeous too - have hit some in range in the past and they're great irons

IMO Srixon is one of the best irons on the market. I play the Z765 for the past few years and still love them. Unfortunately, they are very overlooked. Everyone needs to check them out.

I am currently planning to test Srixon irons after hitting a Z565 7-iron that the guy next to me at the range this past weekend had. As long as my current game improvement irons, but much better feel, and control was better too. A little more punishing if mishit, but not too bad.

Jeff this is exactly what I'm looking to try/buy. How you finding them? They look brilliant. Currently play titleist AP1 but handicap drop last couple of years has me wanting a forged feeling especially in the higher irons. Any input greatly appreciated. Thanks

Interesting summary. After years of faffing around with different brands and clubs, I ended up going for the z565 irons last year with aftermarket graphite shafts and love them. I did try the z585 and did find that marginal improvement in distance and consistency to the 565 but not worth the expense of upgrading. Never tried the 765 or 785. Was tempted by the new Callaway apex cf19 which I have been trying and find the feel better than the srixons though distance much the same taking into account loft differences. Also only used the std graphite ust recoil shafts on the latter (which I did not take to). Was somewhat concerned about the stronger offset on them which does not suit me. As I improve my golf and my handicap comes down may be worth looking at some 785s I suppose in the shorter irons as you suggest. In any event your question about srixon- I know them and other Japanese brands well having owned several in the past including Bridgestone, Mizuno and XXIO - though never tried the Miura’s. Highly recommend them and much underrated compared to the TMs, Callaway and Pings of the world.
@MrKillahippo6 жыл бұрын
today, in Australia, I compared the 585 and the Mp18' mmc Mizuno I'm about to order the z585'. hard to tell the difference in feel, both yummy soft. but the 585' were more forgiving which allowed me to hit them straighter more times and consistently hit it out of the middle for some strange reason. I also tried the ooix iron and they were better than both but at $300 an iron and the z585 at $190. $110 extra per club for a little extra feel is a bit too much for me.

Thoughts on these vs the new Mizuno 919's? Both are on my radar but availability definitely goes to the Mizuno, at least in my part of the world.
@GolfMonthly6 жыл бұрын
Based on our testing, the 919 range spins a little more has a couple of larger head shapes to offer more forgiveness. The Tour model would be most similar to the Z585 in terms of looks but the JPX919 Tour 7-iron is 34° while on the Z585 it's 31°, so it won't carry as far as the Srixon. Joel
@jacobmccain80826 жыл бұрын
Golf Monthly I dont agree with that comparison. The 919 tour is very close to a muscle back blade. If anything the Z785 and Z985 are pretty close to the Tour, with the 565 is closer to the 919 Forged. I'm torn between staying with Mizuno with the 919 Forged or MP18MMC, or going with a 585/785 combo set.

They do slip under the radar. People only thing of Srixon golf balls. I plan to get a fitting for the 785’s as soon as they are available here in Washington state. I think the stronger lofts and forged heads will suit my game perfectly.

Jeffrey Katz I’m playing off 12. I have the Srixon Z585 3 iron (still to use it on the course). My current irons are JPX 825’s 4 to PW. Money isn’t too much of an issue. Finding it hard to decide on Srixon Z585’s or going Mizuno JPX 919’s 5 & 6 Hot Metal irons and 7 to PW in the JPX 919 Forged metal. I’ve enjoyed Mizuno irons for the last 8 years but it’s time to upgrade as I’ve lost the love for my current irons and I’ve lost distance as well. Most likely because the lofts have shifted on the clubs as they’re going higher. Decisions, decisions?
