Ditched my fatboy bobber for a street Glide 2 months ago. Wow. Game changer. My rides went from 2 hrs to all day in comfort. Btw...$14k seems excessive for this 2013 and I dont see $4k in mods. I paid $10k for my 2013 and its comparable to this one.

In regards to the comparison between the Street Glide Special vs the Ultra Limited, I am in complete agreement with the styling points mentioned in the video, but I would like to throw in a little kudos for the handling of the Street Glide as well. I’ve owned several models of bikes by HD, and that includes 72’ shovel head, 72’ Sportster, 82’ Wideglide, 2016’ Breakout, 2019’ Deluxe, and now a 2020’ Street Glide. Each one having it’s own strong and weak points when doing serious travel. The Street Glide, thanks to it’s lower stance, is very agile, given that it has a lower center of gravity, cornering at a little faster speed is effortless and I feel comfortable and in control, which is of great importance since I drive in Colorado’s mountains alot in the summer. It is also great in high volume traffic areas in the city where stop and go is the norm. Nowhere near the heating issues I had in my shovelhead and breakout. Overall comfort on the Street Glide is exceptional and it is a well balanced bike, and you can add on all kinds of goodies to achieve the final look you want. I never really considered a bagger when owning my other bikes, but after buying one I realize that we’re always learning something new in the Harley experience, and I’m stoked about my Street Glide. Go get one, you won’t be sorry.

The EG Standard took the place of the FLHS ( of which I have a 1991 ) made periodically from 1977- 1993. They used the FLHS format to make the Road King and upped the $. Then comes the Standard. Nothing wrong with a silver motor. They used that to denote entry level tour bike. Then they upgraded to the Street Glide. Yep, paint the motor, take off passing lamps, put a smaller front fender, and jack the $! Now I ride a 2009 Ultra, and took the pak off, unless I’m on the road. Personally I’m an EVO man. Best motor they ever built. I still ride my FLHS also.

The major problem with a street glide is the wind buffering hitting the batwing fairing. The road glide is where it’s at IMO. Less of a workout for long rides as the fairing is fixed to the frame and takes all the wind. That and they look better imo.

I have a 2018 street glide special. I absolutely love it. It’s definitely a head turner. I used to get that when I had my Dyna. But not to this extent. But if you want to crush miles on and look good doing it. Street glide is where it’s at. It handles really good too. There’s certain things I think the Dyna did better with. But nothing that makes the street glide feel as big as it is. It also has a great lean angle. The Dyna street bob has more lean than almost every Harley. But the stuff I’d drag peg on with it. I haven’t touched the floorboards with the street glide. And I’ve been pushing it hard in the turns expecting it to scrape.

I have a 2014 and love it. Two main things to do them. First, cam, heads, air and map. Makes that 103 come alive. Mine specked out at 116lb torque and 103 hp. 100 torque at about 2000 rpm. Next and just as important, replace the rear shocks with something that can make the bike handle right. I put on a set of Terry Cable shocks. Same ride height but 1" more travel. I did not stop there. I changed out the front fork dampener but left the spring stock. Amazing the difference. Handling is a 10. Tight in the corners. Glides down the road. Might be a 'me too' bike, but I made it my own.

Well Sean this is how it started at least in my area. Younger People was buying the standard then take all the Crome and badging off then putting a short windshield on it and putting they’re own radios on them all for around 13 to 15,000. The motor company took that and ran with it... give the radio back. No crome and color options. Because the standard only came in black. Then marked it up to 25 to 30,000. Smart of the company but people should have demanded the cheaper standard with a color options because nobody keeps it stock. But it is all about the might dollar! Thanks for the vid bro...

I normally don't comment, but here goes. I have a 2011 streetglide, and mine did come with a tour pack. I installed the bars myself on mine. If you run the wires through the bars, it's difficult, but it's possible to do yourself. Still cost me about $1200 when all is said and done, and you still need to take it to the dealer to have your breaks bleed, if it has abs, as the dealer has the program and they haven't released the info to the aftermarket world yet. But it is possible to disconnect the abs system all together. Also a downfall for the newer bikes with abs is you have to have the dealer change your breakfluid every 2 years or your abs will break.

It does have the flared windshield and I had plans on changing it, but that in my opinion would make it worse? I had 3 Street Glides over the years and wish I still had them now! Sure, the Road Glide handles like a dream on the highway because of the fixed fairing, but your head isn't quite as rigid and it makes for a miserable ride! KEEP YOUR STREET GLIDES!

i was at the love ride in 2004 in glendale. i was riding a limited edition fatboy at that time. next to me in our group was Bill Davidson, Robert Patrick and a few other notable HD dignitaries. Bill and I wandered off to check out some of the other bikes dotted all over the streets near glendale harley. at one point we came upon a whole group of Harley riders from a Cholo Club that had done some outrageous mods to their bikes. massive apes, super-long fish-tailed pipes, extended bags etc. SUPER CHROMEY! BUT!!! some members of the groups had adopted the SoCal lowrider style to their Ultra Classics. they had "smoothed" out the bike, by taking 99% of the chrome either off or had powered-coated it to match the skins color of the fenders, bags, tanks etc. some were lowered, but most looked like they had been "murdered" out before the term was used. Bill was blown away. He took a few pics, and as we walked back to the Rally Burgers and waited for the ride to kick-off, he said, they could do a factory version like those he had just witnessed. i remarked, if you build one like that, i'll buy one. so, around a year or so later, right after my fatboy had been stolen... i picked up the first street-glide in San Diego. added a detachable chopped tour-pak, screamin' eagle exhaust, and a few other mods and away i went. my first faired bike that Bill had said they would make. we must all thank the low-rider clubs of Southern California for the imspiration. the bike is still mine, it now has 85,000 miles on it. it's been ridden up the coast to SF many times, across the loneliest road, route 50 thru nevada, up to yellowstone, out to denver and back and it's still my daily commute bike as i pull the tour-pak off and cross into TJ daily for work. the TJ/SD border is easiest to cross on a bike. here's the inspiration for the bike. i.pinimg.com/originals/75/d2/c9/75d2c98911d53b4838a5b05c4081f6cc.jpg

The first impression I get from this guy is that he is mostly a sales person, at least as far as this video goes. The Street Glide is not the most popular touring bike that Harley sells. The Road King is, first because it has been in production longer and partly due to the fact that it is one of the lower priced touring models, it is also lighter in weight making it popular to those upgrading from other Harley frame type models. It is the best handling touring model and a very comfortable long distance rider. Before I am accused of being a biased Road King owner let me say that I did own a 2003 100th Anniversary Road King and it was a hard decision to trade it in, only because I couldn't afford 2 bikes. I decided to upgrade when the Rushmore models came out with all the improvements to design. Although I intended to buy a Street Glide, my salesman at the local Harley dealer convinced me to test ride the 2015 Road Glide. I bought a Road Glide Special as soon as I returned from the test ride, which wasn't just a short local ride but an hour long ride on an interstate and local roads. The Road Glide handles better than a Street Glide on the highway, so, if your a distance rider the Road Glide is superior. Unfortunately my 2015 was totaled in an accident but the good part is the car owner's insurance paid for my new 2017 M8 Road Glide Special that is even better than the 2015 was. My point is don't assume anything, all Harley touring models are great bikes but test ride all of them before making your decision.

Patrick Hutcheson I have a road glide, because they’re better... however, if I was going to get a batwing, I’d go with the Electra glide. The reason some people would prefer it is because it saves on cost by not including things you’d want to upgrade anyways. The Harley sound systems suck, unless you upgrade to stage 2 audio. Also, with brushed parts, instead of chrome, it’s easier to prep parts for powder coating or, in my case, cerakote. Everyone wants to customize their bike, so why not buy a stripped down version? If they had the same thing for rg, I would’ve gone with that

Solid video Sean. I like the looks and convenience of the sg. It could be a great bike for me. But I can't stand the fact that everyone has one. Something about that just sucks. Everywhere I go it's street glide, street glide, street glide. Obviously for good reason people are buying them. I just see no individuality. Most folks pull a 20k loan and can't afford to make it their own. I don't know... maybe one day, when I'm done standing out. For now, I think the best bike Harley could ever offer me is the deluxe in pearl white, 114 motor, carlini's, and fish tails.

After a few long trips I think the frame mounted fairing of roat glide would be better for wind and the wind turbulence from semi trucks. But I'm in to deep to get out of it it now. Look for older ones. Just do not buy a V twin motor that was made from 89 to 2006. They have a serious design flaw with the cam chain tensioners. If you do not ride your bike regularly the oil drains off the Teflon tensioner and they get dry start wear from the silent cam chain. Low mile bikes in that era is notorious for breaking down and that’s why those years of bikes are cheap.

The Street Glides are good bikes if you actually want to ride some distance. Not just be one of these guys who rides to the bar, shows it off, tells other people what it means to be a real biker, and then goes three miles back home. 😂 Because let's face it there's two types of Harley Riders. There's people that actually enjoy motorcycles and then there's people who take advantage of Harley-Davidson being the largest cosplay company in the world. 😂 I swear they're like "look at me I do 10 miles a week on my bike and try to pretend I'm on Sons of Anarchy." 😂 Anyway, if anybody is looking for an actual motorcycle and not just a way to show off at the bar, the Street Glide is a hell of a bike.
