I was one of those guys in my late thirties that said baggers were old man bikes. And I stuck by that opinion right up until I road my friends 1996 Ultra and after just 5 minutes of riding it I knew that I was going to buy one ASAP. A month later I bought a 2003 Anniversary Ultra. That was around 2007, 100,000 miles later I am still riding that bike and never felt the need to look for another bike. A few years later the Streetglide came out and the masses finally figured it out. Baggers rock. And you would be amazed at how much you can pack into that luggage system.

Common issue with Harley is a lag in utilizing new tech on their bikes. The Milwaukee 8 is a perfect example. Other companies like Honda were going 4valve and water cooling on 2 cylinders (CX500), in the late 70's, proving the design is worthwhile. When did Harley go 4v? Waaaay later. Don't get me wrong, Harley's are great bikes, but imagine how good they could have been if they had adopted full-water-cooling, Fuel injection, computer control, and 4v back in the 80's? They likely would have destroyed to competition. Btw, LOVE that Full Dresser. Best Harley ever.

6 gallon fuel tank. It's an electra glide, they just call them ultra classic (air/oil cooled) and ultra limited which has twin cooling (radiators in lowers for the heads). I have a 2017 vivd black ultra classic. The windshield vent reduces buffeting when open. If you close it, you will get more buffeting as the air rolls over the windshield. That's the primary purpose of the vent - not for cooling. I also wear a full-face helmet. The lowers have vents, but the fairing also has adjustable "wings", for lack of a better term, to direct air onto your torso. Love it - great bike. That red is my favorite color combo, but a new black one with an upgraded infotainment system was available for a killer deal, so that's what I bought. I use my cruise control a lot and it works great. The EITMS is the engine idle temperature management system. When you are idling and the temperature hits a certain value, it will shut down the rear cylinder to help reduce heat. You can turn that feature off by rolling the throttle forward and holding it there a couple of seconds. I leave mine on - it turns the rear cylinder back on as soon as you twist the throttle. If all the Harley hater "experts", or anyone for that matter, would ride one of the Milwaukee 8 touring bikes, I think they would be really impressed with them.
@johns37164 жыл бұрын
I have a 2019 Street Glide Special ... and I leave that fairing vent open all the time! I get way too much buffeting with the vent closed. I added a Memphis Shades 6.5" curved screen to it, it's perfect for me (5'8" tall).

He decided to change out the tail pipes and drill out the catalytic converters, by himself. He wanted that old school roar. Eventually he bought a new set of the original pipes and put them on it.

I have two CVOs. One is a 2016 breakout and the other is a 2018 street glide. The only problem I’ve ever had with the CVO Breakout is it kills my back. After about two hours, I can’t wait to get off of it. But the bike is fast and loud and I love it. The street glide has a lot of upsides on the breakout like fairings and bags blah blah blah. But the nav sometimes has no idea where I am and will show me in the middle of a lake somewhere, the speakers in the bags sound like they’re blown, I’ve had them replaced twice, and they still buzz like hell with bass, and the Milwaukee 8 HATES to run cold. The twin cam 110 on my breakout can just fire up and go, but even in the heat of summer the 114 M8 needs to warm up for a good 5-10 minutes or it chokes on itself and stutters bad when you crank on the throttle.

Those bikes are beautiful. I'm going to buy a used one next spring. There are a lot of them on the market with low miles because people ran out and bought them during the sons of anarchy days. rode them a for a little while on the weekends and then lost interest, wife says sell it, because they didn't grow up around motorcycles and bikers. In other words they weren't real bikers. Nothing wrong with getting into new ventures but since every one went out and bought them now the market is flooded with used ones. In the 70's and 80's you had to order a Harley and wait for up to 6 months for one. You could get close to new price from well take care of used one if you were lucky enough to find one for sale. I'm speaking the electra glide of course. the ultra's came later. Same bike though as far as riding goes.

This is what you get if you get a car designer to design a motorcycle. Let's put everything on it to try and make it into a car. The funniest thing ever a vent to let air through the device designed to prevent air hitting you. Priceless.

Ive been riding for 15 years. Im still waiting for the time to come when cruise control is awesome. I think I just live in a shitty state though. Maybe when I retire I can move and enjoy some cruise control. Till then, throttle and brake lights.

It will break down in a way I cannot repair at the side of the road and I will have to walk home. Yeah that would be a good and valid excuse not to ride it!

Some people would (as a joke, not too serious) say that this isn't even riding a "Motorcycle" anymore - I mean, no Wind, a good Seat, no mechanical work needed on them, a Radio, a Com System ...

Great content. That's a great looking bike with fit and finish second to none but I love being able to push the button on my Victory and lower or raise the windshield as needed. And factory standard equipment heated his/her seat and heated grips and electric cruise control is really nice especially when you ride all seasons. Shame that stuff is optional on a $30,000. motorcycle. Ride safe! 🇺🇸👌

Yea but Harley will fix your bike as a priority if you are on a road thrip and a dealership is always close by. I had a victory for 8 years and loved it too until my drive belt broke in Asheville NC and i had to rent a U haul and tow it 100 miles to the nearest dealer and that was when they where still in business. With Victory out of business now you are screwed if the bike breaks down. Also Victory has basically no resale value for this reason.

Hey Sean, you ever ride a early 80s Yamaha Maxim XJ1100? You should find one and do a test and compare to a modern equivalent. Keep up the good work dudes.
