The SRX game is the closest to Dirt to Daytona that Monster has gotten. Crazy none of their NASCAR games got there.

Probably because 704 wanted more control why do you think once heat 4 was positively reviewed monster left

Monster Games did make Dirt to Daytona lol

I honestly love the SRX game, and I'm glad to see someone actually talk about how solid it is. Monster games lost a lot of rep with the early heat games, and it seems like because of that, nobody wants to admit how good their more recent shit is. The Physics in this game are a great example of sim-cade, realistic enough that your real life racing knowledge helps but just a tad forgiving so that you don't have to dedicate months to practicing. The AI are super aware of the player, they race realistic lines, and like you mentioned in this video - there's so many settings to fine-tune you're almost guaranteed to get a racing experience you enjoy.

Such a shame that more people aren't talking about this game. I picked it up for the sole reason of the late model's inclusion, and you're right it's really cool

These look like a lot more fun to drive than to watch as a regular spectator. It's a shame that short track racing is very niche because of that, and the attitude most people have is "hurr durr turning left every 7 seconds isn't racing" even as they refuse to go out their GT3 comfort zone. It's also extremely important to nail the AI because of that, since you'll likely not find anyone online, and it looks like the devs of this game really understand that.

So I pretty much know nothing about oval racing and have been wanting to get a game so I can try it out a bit every now and then. This seems to fit my needs pretty much. I'm just looking for a game that's decently fun for offline racing. Thanks for the video showing off the strengths of this game.

This game looks low-key really good. I dismissed it based on a new series that hadn't proven itself yet, together with a developer I hadn't heard of. We desperately need racing games with AI that's actually decent.

This game is $30 and is fun as hell 704 let monster go and now those games have improved with every release

Is this the kind of ai you would like to see in nascar 21 ignition?

I never went and looked for any setups when I did a season on this game. At some tracks there just was no competing with the top 2 or 3 cars. But the scripted wrecks code would always come along giving me the opportunity to take the lead at a restart and block. I just quickly noticed that those wrecks have to happen in front of you, and it sucks because there is no way to repair the car.

I remember your video from earlier in the year where you showcased the AI exhibiting hovercraft behavior. Did Monster change the behavior at all or is this only mutually exclusive to the dirt racing vehicles?

You don't have to answer this, but the comment about an AI crash seeming violent got me wondering what's the worst wreck you've seen in a race you've participated in. Like if bad injuries are common at the levels you frequent.

I've seen a few really gnarly wrecks but thankfully no injuries. Worst was probably Kal Koenig's Mustang wreck from just a few weeks back. At 7:04 in this video there's a mustang foxbody that goes into the wall at a 45 degree angle and then starts rolling backwards into the racing line. You can't tell from my POV when I drive past it, but the car sliced through the guardrail and the chassis was dismembered similar to Mike Harmon's wreck. Not completely split apart but looking at it in the pits afterwards was morbid. kzbin.info/www/bejne/bIrSZaiMlLipoc0

You're the only one who can fill my screen with this, don't stop now. I found the AI spins a bit goofy, without any wobble or progression, but I guess they just have to happen to make the race more realistic, so the details don't matter. You sell this discipline pretty well, maybe make a game "review" as well in terms of features and stuff.

damn. this game i want to say is on the unity engine and not a 120 dollar game kicks iracing's ass and that is embarrassing.
