Well. He has the longest blade in the game but he keeps trying to play close range... He doesn't understand the character.

@@boukman3668 you do realize that bassmage is the best puff in the world, that that all of Seths attacks are long but too slow. So puff players can get it pretty well and force the seth to play close range cus all of Seth’s options can either get blocked and punished by puff, or too laggy and puffs air speed just gets in so easily. And that’s ignoring the fact that puffs air acceleration can bait super well and with a laggy kit like Seth’s, it’s gonna be hard af. The way bassmage plays, I don’t think any Seth with worse PR then bassmage(43 best player in the world btw) will beat bassmage ever.

@@silaspq Nah he was playing rlly bad. You need to wait and camp because any close range interaction can easily be a stock. Esp w how free puff edgeguards seph. Keep ur feet planted centerstage and deny any approaches is best bet for neutral

@@killercream1933 although that is true, he prolly didn’t have the matchup experience, cus bassmage really controlled the flow of that game

Im not a pro player, but I do main sephiroth and my friend mains jigglypuff, so Im familiar with the match up. Honestly, Ishtar wasnt playing optimally in this set. He needed to anticipate Jigglypuff trying to play underneath and close up to sephiroth. I think he needed go for more SH nairs/grab mix ups and throw in a few jab "get off me's". He also could have done more up angled side tilts cause it's waaay faster than back air. Normally back air is good, but Jigglypuff can get in so easy since its so committal and easily telegraphed. Lastly, the biggest change was needing to up throw Jigglypuff rather than throwing her off stage and cover with up airs instead. Jigglypuff's horizontal and offstage game is so hard to play against compared to her slow fall speed. Normally, with most characters, sephiroth wants to throw off the stage and edgeguard, but you cant do that with jiggs. So putting her in the air really limits her options.

@@Emu- I think the future of Sephy will be how well players can land and capitalize off side b, whether it be the skittles being reflected, forcing someone on ledge for invincibility, or getting a kill off a conversion after they make impact on the target
