For the OS combo, i recorded the combo for the Guile bot and I am the player controlling Ken and Sagat trying to get out of it. Since the Guile high kick is the OS, it does not come out of the first roundhouse hits your opponent. If the first roundhouse misses, then the High Kick will come out.

That OS combo was just one recording. When you try it, you can make the combo more damaging by reacting to what happens. For example if they back dash and get hit, you can FK or backfist. If they Cr. Tech you can fierce, cr. forward, sweep, and cr. strong. If they just block when you r doing the combo you can walk forward and kara throw after the fierce. Using this with your normal offense separately or together will make you opponents have to guess if its an OS set up or a normal combo.

@ariespinal yea dont use pad...if your hand is getting tired then its good to take breaks once in awhile. Also, its good to not get bored and to have your mind reset.

@brainstem46 I would assumed that this is one of the design flaws for Guile. Logically it is not possible to be "too near" to kick it. Same goes to Ultra 2, the hitbox is too narrow, opponent can actually land in between Guile and the Sonic Hurricane when: 1. Ken made a hard punch SRK at close distance, Guile blocked it, and Guile executes U2 trying to punish the landing Ken. 2. FADC Fwd Dash U2 when opponent in the corner. U2 are flawed

That last one against Akuma was nice, you charged the Super to the other side and use the (in your case) forward input for the super as blocker for the crossup and continued the motion....NICE

6:06 Something I really hate about Guile's Flash Kick. For some reason, when opponent is too close to me, the Flash Kick will miss.

Try to find "plinking" on youtube. I can't post links in the comment section, but you can find good videos with a normal search. If you want to kara sonic boom then try plinking a sonic boom with a sweep. That means you charge back for two seconds, move the joystick forward, then down-back + (Plink sweep) a punch button. For the last step you hit the heavy kick just before the punch button, it is ALMOST simultaneously. Negative edge means a special move coming out after you release a button

it does not sound stupid at all; cr. jab to cr. strong is a one frame link and the pros miss that from time to time too. You can make the link 2 times easier by using a technique called "plinking" (priority linking). In the combo cr. jab>cr. jab>cr. strong, press the cr. strong along with another cr. jab, but the cr. strong JUST before the third cr. jab. I am doing the technique a few times in this video at 6:58. There are great tutorials on youtube about it as well so search away!

Practice in training mode by backing the dummy into the corner and try to negative edge sonic booms as quickly as you can at one step range.

Hey brainstem, another great vid! You made me a believer in the ultra 2 especially with the great help on the fk fadc ultra. Anyways, this is going to sound totally stupid, but for some reason i can't combo a crouching light punch into a crouch med punch. It seems ridiculous I know, especially when i can fadc into an ultra. P.S. I just tried for an hour straight with no luck, it's so sad it's funny

That would be because the information is wrong. You can only kara with sweep apparently. I was just walking forward. The charge will stay for one frame when walking forward. The rest of the information in the video is on point tho.

I get what your thinking, you're on the right track, but kara means "empty". A move isn't really out until the active frames begin. You can cancel a move in it's start up frames by inputting a more dominant move like a grab or a special. Some characters can cancel special moves in their start up phases with other special moves. As long as you get the idea, you can call it whatever you want it to be ;)

In my tutorial i am doing what the Guile thread told me to do, i'm just adding as much distance as possible on it with the walk forward. If you don't like what i showed, and you are interested in karas, then tell me how to make it better and I can upload it.

@sh1nguile hmm i wouldn't give up playing...that is the whole reason. You don't want to make it too boring for yourself by just training. So if you have to choose between the two, then play more. If your having problems like thinking something, but it doesn't come out, then definitely play more; cause more matches is the only thing that will help that problem. Once you keep getting rushed down, there comes a point where you have had enough and you just force out the anti-airs.

@brainstem46 Thx for the reply and help. I have the MLG fightstick coming in the mail so I'll be practicing my plinking then. I did some experimenting last night and for some reason the combo is only really hard for me to do when the AI in training is in the corner. Their blocking becomes much better, I have no idea why. Anyways I'm going to keep practicing the basics for now and probablly get back to you when I get stuck again :S Haha thx man.

What am I doing wrong I have a controller instead of a joystick but I cant seem to do ultras when I send them up in the air. All my input commands are correct. If I do it too fast nothing comes out. If I wait just a little too long the ultra misses. Am I suppose to press something to cancel my inputs? Example: Super to ultra 2. Flash kick to super.

@calvinfoo yea, i know how that is...even the pros have that problem from time to time. It happens online more because of the small delay. But yea, FK is a shitty move in general; it is best to anti-air with normals

I was wondering do you get tired of all the charging because after 2 to 3 matches my left hand is really tired I thought it was bc I was playing on a pad but like a year ago I bought a stick to see if it helps my game and help my hand relax more but it's the same my game didn't improve really just the fact that I tried to pick the pad up again and I can't play on it anymore but only with charge characters and I ask because this is the Guile dojo learned lots of stuff here.

The 360's tip and mash kick really helped me with that super combo, however I'm still having huge problems with focus cancel into ultra 2 on the ps3 pad. The inputs point to all fucking directions imaginable :) Honey, come home and be a family man. Sorry, babe, I'm stuck in the training room until this EX cancel/ultra 2 works. Tell the kids...Hello.

Charge and grapple characters suck. I prefer the easy characters like Ken, Ryu, Cody, Guy, Gouken, Evil Ryu, Sakura, and among other easy types.
