The thing about Daigo is that he studies the match ups, he learns them better than anybody else. Infiltration not only does that but he studies the player inside out. At EVO Infil wasn't fighting Ryu, he was fighting Diago, he knew what daigo's tendencies are (e.g throwing fireballs, or on opponents wake up, DASH up grab.) and that's how he won. Diago and Infil are both remarkable players but deference between them is simply this: To Diago this is just an FGC event, to Infil this is esports.

I can't see how she is a mid-tier character. Great ground normals, light air tatsu is one of the best approaches in the game, and her jump fierce hitbox is incredible. She possesses a great abare game and her pressure setups in the corner hinge on abusive. I see her as top 8-10.

Tokido won a lot of major tournament as a lot of people mentioned in reply. The only difference of Infiltration and Tokido is the amount of time they spent playing. Infiltration plays more than 10 hours (as detailed from past video archives) in ae and Tokido plays a multitude of games (5+ fighting games to say the least). But without any argument, Infiltration is the best in the SSF4AE 2012 era.

You're watching a video of Xian. He was playing Gen years ago and getting blown up on stream, but he's just put the work in for years, has been one of the smartest and hardest working players in the FGC, and he did it with Gen, a character who by all accounts is ass, at least on paper. But Xian elevates the character because with skill and knowledge, at least in SF, that can be done, and he proves is like a boss. Learn your character and learn your opponents, the wins will come =]

Ryu is just a hype character in general and usually must be played with a style that is very fun to watch. Did you see Infiltration body Ricky Ortiz using Ryu at Final Round? Was way hype (/watch?v=w34uGEquGKI). I will admit that Daigo's playing style is the most fun to watch. But, if you haven't seen that match, check it out. The crowd goes nuts for Infiltration, something you never see when Infiltration uses Akuma.

the good distance to evitate this is 1m to the screen and some days without play to manage his eyes and spirit and some ki gong eyes exercises to train his eyes to come back to normal and maybe an orthoptist consult, that's better than live that's i'd lived, prevent is better than heal!

Good points. The only thing I can think of for individual, non-team sports would be Performance Enhancing Drugs. Like the Lance Armstrong fiasco for example. But, for the most part I agree. Much harder to find anything to complain about in non-team sports as far as legitimacy.

I should have been more clear there. I would say he's the best American Sakura player. His game has shown a lot of improvement since EVO last year. I still think HumanBomb, Juso and Uryo play better Sakuras, but Chris is improving. I haven't seen Uryo play Sakura in a while, maybe I've just missed some stuff, but he seems to be a Viper player now. So, in that case I'd say Chris plays the 3rd best Sakura.

Great match. There was at least 2 or 3 rounds where Xian was just short on super by less then 1 bar that could of won him the round. I think Xian will get him next time. That being said Infiltration was solid as ever. I just wish Daigo was there then we could of seen the top 3 best players go at it.

Akuma is fine the way he is. He's just good. Infiltration doesn't get enough credit for mastering a character to the point where he's almost unbeatable. Infiltration and tokido are the only akumas you ever see place well in events because they are such good players. Sf4 top 8s are usually very well varied and yet people cry at characters they have trouble beating.

I would agree that some characters are more versatile than others, but that does not automatically mean they will win. Take ChrisG's Sakura. Not many people would consider her a very versatile or tournament worthy character, but he players her very well. To the point where he can beat Rufus and Honda players. Same thing with Momochi's Cody.

There are many people who would disagree with you. In almost every tier list I have ever seen she is a mid-tier character. I agree that she has great offensive potential, especially if you can get a corner on your opponent. I see her as a mid-high tier character. I would say she's around 10, but almost no lists I've seen rank her that high.

Ibuki doesn't really need to zone. She can beat zoning with moves that go under or above fireballs and go full-screen in a flash. But you're right. Akuma can zone, footsie, mix-up, rushdown... he excels in every area of the game, and he's broken as fuck.

Akuma/Gouki doe not need to be altered. In fact, I would go so far as to say he is similar to Seth in that he has poor heath and needs to keep up the offensive pressure to win.

Daigo is the best bet for being Infiltration. I'd consider both of them in a tier of their own. I'd consider Xian, ChrisG, Justin Wong, etc. the tier below them. Just my opinion though. Either way it was a tough loss. I think Xian had it, but Infiltration is probably the smartest guy playing and he just figured him out.

At top pro level, it depends on the player. Look at Tokido, he's been playing akuma since vanilla. Did he won any major tourny? No. Until Infiltration won Evo last year 2012, akuma char went to top tier list and everyone are crying about it. Give Infiltration credit for his hard work in mastering the akuma char. His ability to read the player and match up as well as changing his game play to be defensive and offensive at the right time. It takes alot of intelligence. Stop hating bec he's winning

Well this is a disadvantage game for Xian... but to hang that long was amazing.... I'm sure if Yun was his main this would've been a eazy match up... makes the other guy work harder but infiltration is a good player... this is a pretty strong matchup...

Well, in team sports, you can argue that the legitimacy of a player can be disputed based on the team he's playing with. Tom Brady vs Peyton Manning for example. Whether or not Jeremy Lin is as good as people say he is. In non-team sports, which would probably be racing and combat/martial arts competitions, I don't think an argument against legitimacy can be made there.

Yo xian punished like every vortex option infiltration did. Like he knows this matchup really well. If xian challenged a bit more and get a lot more of his combos he would have taken this set. Good stuff to both players

Non Legit... There is no president for a like situation of tier setting in professional sport. Closest examples I can come up with was the complaint's issued against Oscar Pistorius " The Blade Runner " within the Par-Olympic games. He had 2 blades/artificial legs he ran with, he complained about another runners blades as they were longer than his own and gave an advantage. I Guess F1 rules regarding weight and power banding apply also as someone complained to get rules instated.

Xian was in the loser's bracket. He reseted the bracket with a 3-0 against Infiltration. So, Infiltration is now in the loser's bracket and they have to play another set, which Infiltration won 3-1.

He woulda lost since Infiltration is in losers, Xian woulda 3-0 him just like in this finals. These are 2 even match competitors and Infiltration came out on top this time because he was in winners. At Evo I'd surmise that Xian woulda won, but that's up to Infiltration for not beating Akuma, I mean Tokido.
