Test of free octane render.
Keyframe concept.
Green guys visited peacefully sleeping people.
I used ZBrush for sculpting, blender and Octane render for shading and visualization, as well as Photoshop for finalizing the image.
I want to show you a wonderful world of 3D graphics and concept art.
My name is Alex Pi, I am interested in 3D graphics since 2010 and have been doing it professionally since 2014, in 2018 I realized that I wanted more than just 3D modeling and visualization, I started learning concept design...
Used programs:
ZBrush, Blender 2.82, Octane, Photoshop.

Bro you need to do tutorials for these on Gumroad! I would buy them. This workflow is really great, also the Blender architectural generated interiors. I bought the files and am exploring the possibilites for design exploration and iteration now, so it would be great to see where you can go with thiese techniques. So please do tutorials as well :)!

Hi Alex! What was the advantage of using zbrush here? Instead of 3dcoat or blender sculpting.
@AlexPi
@AlexPi 4 жыл бұрын

Whoa, I was wondering how the heck you were masking and moving things in Blender, and then I realized you changed the default orange for the highlight buttons in ZBrush. Not cool! You hurt my little brain for a second. If you think Octane in Blender looks good, try VRay in UE4. 10x faster and beautiful colors and raytracing at warp speed. I use Blender as my default DCC, but now render everything in UE4. If you have an RTX card, you may not even need VRay, just use the native UE4 renderer. It's a very pretty picture, like Daz3D, but the real power and craft is making a short video. It is pretty for what it is, but you can't use Ps on every frame in a short film. Ae, Resolve, Nuke...
@AlexPi
@AlexPi 4 жыл бұрын
This is concept art) I need only one frame) UE4 is really good. Thanks for your advice :)
@jeffspinner6579
@jeffspinner6579 4 жыл бұрын
@@AlexPi, I've been using UE4 for about 2 months and I was shocked at the quality, and then really shocked at its render speed. I came from C4D and Redshift (both octane and Redshift are 7x faster than Arnold), so I thought I was ahead of the game taking 10hrs to render each 3secs of video... Then UE4 happened and I rendered 30 secs in I think 3 mins...it was Uber fast...I was dumbfounded. Then I looked very carefully at the output. I immediately wanted even more. So I went with VRay instead of buying the current Gen of rtx cards because until the rtx 3080 does it in hardware, this Gen rtx is bs... Dude, it's so good, I'm relearning my cinematography classes, and learning for real how to "shape light." It's that realistic. What we don't really have are the real movie lights, lenses, scrims, diffusers, bounces, flags and other light shapers used on real sets...but we can make CGI equivalents; I haven't figured out yet how to measurie a 2 stop difference between either side of a main subject, but to measure the distance of the lights and the power and calculate ratios between them using the inverse square law... ..AND unlike reality, negative numbers in Blender lights *take away light!* wtf! The posdibilities! I have to see if UE4 has an analogue! Faster renders, faster iterations, more practice, more better you! Your stuff did look pretty... Imagine your concept art, but with the aliens moving...the holographic screen animated? Imagine the camera(s) slowly going down the hallway passed an alien, the lights flickering, droplets hitting those drains in front of the ppl storage boxes! That's what your art deserves, imo, in a beautiful color palette, ray traced to perfection. Dare to dream! Of course, "the ears lead the senses"...so there's that too, but you'd never have noticed until you had your scene _move._ Do you hear the dripping? The deep hum of the ship? You missed steam coming out of those drains!? The aliens are gibbering... See how a picture and a video differs? Have you considered writing a screen play for the picture? Neither did I until I thought I could simplify my short film as a comic or graphic novel (in this case the stills would be in e-ticket with a ton shader) and then I learned I had to right the script first ANYWAYS! Btw, with or without _Final Draft,_ the mechanics of writing a screenplay is simple, the hard part is the intention and obstacle and then writing it.... Have you ever written a screen play for a pic in a thought out way? The few weeks of study isn't so bad...maybe you're actually a movie maker and didn't know it! I'm reading a Rick and Morty script because I can't believe they actually write scripts for that! And all of the scripts I've seen are structured amazingly similar...it's like fingerprinting in grammar school...it's what you paint that's the artform.
