This brings back great memories shared with you, Brenden and Padjen on our departure from Sint Maarten. This was my first experience with sailing on a sailboat and it was an eye opener. Life onboard a sailboat requires discipline, patience and sometimes fast action. Preplanning and teamwork is so vitally important. Add in documenting everything on video only adds to the challenge. I appreciate your Patreon Drawing and having the opportunity to become part of the journey. Our time in Sint Maarten documenting the hurricane damage and hearing the stories from the people that lived through it as well as upgrading the SV Sophisticated Lady with the Dinghy Lift, acquiring the new Dinghy and the New Yamaha Outboard was an adventure in its self. I think the most interesting part for me was seeing what goes on behind the scenes with you, Brenden, Tiki and all the work that goes into maintaining a KZbin Channel while sailing the oceans of the world. Brenden, great job editing and putting this together. You have become quite the producer and I see great things coming to you in the future. Your drone piloting skills are also quite amazing and I really enjoy your pushing the limits of drone flying. Captain Rick, Thank you for sharing your world and making me part of it even though it was only 3 weeks. I can’t wait for the next adventure. Nice rigging on the dinghy. Good idea to add support for the engine. Were you to encounter heavy seas the motor would need that extra support. Well filmed and edited. Looks like a good crew for the transit. You all must get pretty hungry with all that activity. Just watching made me want a double In-and-Out burger with extra fries.

I don't use jacklines as I prefer to use strategically placed clip points that will not allow a person to fall overboard. If anybody goes over attached to a jackline it is almost guaranteed they will drown. I think the captain should test this jackline with a man overboard drill at 6kts. I think you find they are incredibly dangerous, and no crew member should use them unless they are designed in such a way to keep the crew member on the sailboat. All safety lines, tethers and such should be designed in such a way as to keep the crew member on the boat at all times, not with the boat.

From the advantage of a third person prospective, you have three little habits that instantly dismiss you as a romantic prospect to every quality woman you meet.
