Wonderful how you gave us the feel for night sailing. So many of us were right there with you as your well constructed prose brought us right aboard. No shots of the young lady at the helm on watch...is she ok? The boat looks fabulously well cared for. You can really tell how much you love to sail. Nothing like sitting in the cockpit watching the waves roll by. No wonder the famous round the worlder (Moitissier?) just kept going.

II love sailing, I love the sound of the waves rushing against the boat, and love the sound of the wind running thru the sails, the music background just gets in the way of all that, rather not have any music.

I was on a cruise in 1987 that stopped in at St. Thomas USVI aboard the Royal Caribbean Nordic Prince. It's a lovely place like most in the region; one of the excursions I was on was a snorkeling trip which was fun and educational. I was sad to leave the place behind. It's good to see that it's recovering from the storms. I love your account of the sailing conditions. One can't see much of the stars from civilization.

After so much time spent in a relatively small zone, it's easy to see your excitement. I am guessing it is quite satisfying to have planned and executed a transition from charter operator to videography to be partially supported by your KZbin fans/admirers. What a great time, best of luck in your adventures Rick. Will be watching from frozen, snowy Ottawa :)

I know that it's late, but I'm superstitious. Fair winds and following seas! I know you made it (obviously) but I always wish it to my sailing friends and the whole time difference thing mess with your mind. Great video ... yet again ... regardless of the synchronicity of time versus reality. You're a natural story teller and I appreciate that talent.

For some people it's " Where is Bonaire ?"... for others, it's " Where is Main Duck Island ?" :-) Nice job on the passage Rick, always as cool, quality of a good captain.

True fact: at 6 feet above sea level the visual distance to the horizon is 4.2 NM. No wonder you didn't see Bonaire when you thought you might. And (not to be snarky), but that's why sailing ships before the age of radar had crow's nests. Land a'hoy and happy sails.

Hi guys, best of everything on this new adventure mon Capitaine. It made me sad sometimes to see an old sea wolf sort of ''Blazé'' from 15 years in the same places. Shaking the fleabag was the greatest and certainly the scariest decision to take.

Hi Rick, My wife and I are really enjoying all your adventures, and we are living vicariously through you (not sure if you realize that, but I'll bet everyone that is subscribed to you is doing the same thing). Thank you for showing your pfd and tether earlier in the video. But I do have one beef with you however. As a "man overboard" instructor for the U.S. Power Squadrons, it is driving me crazy that you don't wear pfd's often enough. While I noticed that you do when times get rough offshore, I want you to consider doing it more often. Not only because it will show good example when others are watching your videos, but for your own personal safety as well. I want you (and others watching this channel) to think about this scenario. One of you randomly falls overboard while just off shore. Can the other single-handedly recover you, especially if you are unconscious? Even when the seas are relatively calm, this would probably be a challenge. Especially inexperienced crew members that you often have on your boat. Please think about that, and after you do, do a video about it. I learned this lesson the hard way myself, when I accidentally got knocked overboard. I was embarrassed because I am a pretty experienced sailor. I was lucky. But afterwards, after thinking about different scenarios of what could have happened, now I teach the "man overboard" course to others as much as I can. It is extraordinarily difficult to get another back on board, if unconscious, when you are alone. Then think about the same scenario at night. Pretty scary. I also want you to practice falling overboard while tethered and with heavy clothing on. And try to get that on video as well. It would be amazing to see how well you can recover yourself and get yourself back on board while you are sailing in rough seas and/or travelling at a decent clip. Food for thought. Keep up the good work. I just started a KZbin channel myself, and I am learning a whole lot from you. You are such an extraordinary videographer. Thanks and be safe out there.
