Thanks Rick. I loved the comments about being in the rain forest, weather and the wind forecast, the setup on the boat to take advantage of the forecast. I'd love a tech moment on some of the fittings like the end of the boom where it ties into a slide apparatus. I imagine this isn't interesting to some of the viewers but, as we learn it might fit into the dialogue.

To any one spring-loaded to attack SSL for the flag with the swastika: The Swastika was a good luck/sun symbol for centuries before the Nazis perverted it. Here it is shown in its proper orientation, and is the flag of the Guna people who live on the island formerly known as San Blas. It is actually the Panamanian government's recognition of the indigenous population's identity.

It was shown in one of the past two videos as well (at least the symbol). At first I twitched, then I noticed it's "spinning" the other way. Ergo: that's not a Nazi symbol. The German Nazi party was apparently very anal about the chevrons pointing in the right direction, as my mom (born in 1927, she personally experienced that) told me.

Last episode I was alarmed to see Captain Rick flying a flag with a swastika. Doing some research I learned its significance to the local population. "The flag you are describing is the ethnic flag of the Guna people, an indigenous group from Panama. Here are the key details: "The Guna flag has a yellow central stripe representing peace and purity, with red top and bottom stripes. In the center is a swastika symbol called the Naa Ukuryaa, an ancient symbol representing the four directions or the origin of peoples. "The swastika design was adopted by the Guna in 1925 after a successful revolution against Panamanian suppression of their customs. In 1942, a red ring was briefly added around the swastika to "de-Nazify" it due to the Nazi associations, but this was later removed. That symbol is a few thousand years old . It had nothing to with Germany for 99.999 percent of world history. I have personally seen it carved in the ston work of a 1000 plus year old temple in China . The Buddhists have been using the symbol for 2500 years. Roughly it translates to good health, good luck, and long life . Do you get triggered when you see Volkswagen Mercedes-Benz or BMW symbols? The German military used all of those in their war effort in WWII. If you actually look at the German versions, you will notice the color arrangement is different. I apologize for any spelling errors, I am dyslexic .
