I would like to be entered. The clear variety would be a great way to seal off the windows heading into the winter months. With standard caulk there will always be hairline cracks that allow cold air in.

Great video. I have a in-ground koi pond which is actually a Rubbermaid 300 gallon cattle trough. I can't get to the outside of it it's in the ground but it leaks. I need to make repairs inside. Do you think it's like seal is harmful to fish? I need your helpful suggestions

Ok I've got a smaller drum with 2 X 25mm holes in.. I need to bung 1 up and seal it permanently..will this stuff do the job as it's on the bottom not side...cheers

I've used it to seal a crack in watering can and it works great but I'm particularly interested to know whether it would stop my sink from leaking under the sink strainer . I have put a new one in with the new gasket underneath but it still leaks. Would this product work if I spray the outside of the underneath area where it leaks?

Linda: I have the same question. I had a leak 8 years ago under the strainer and I can't remember what I used but it had to be some white silicone caulk and it held all this time. Plumbers want you to pull everything apart and avoid these shortcuts but I repaired a leaky 4 inch cast iron pipe in the basement with PC 7 plumbers putty followed by PC 7 epoxy over the top of the putty after contacting the company's chemist. Worked perfectly for many years now and NO plumber will advise that. To pull that pipe out and everything else is BIG money. I'm doing the same here with this strainer. Maybe silicone caulk again, maybe Flex seal but no way I'm paying a plumber or fiddling with this by taking it apart, not with these different caulks and sealers on the market. 8 years again is fine with me.

Hi, thanks for posting this. I have a slight leak from the most inaccessible part of my coffee maker - the place where the plastic tubing feeds water into the heating chamber. I can't get to that joint (it's in a deep recess, about 8" deep) - the best I can do is squirt a spray sealant in there and hope for the best. Do you think Flex Seal might do the job?

NP1 is a polyurethane calk and works excellent for things like that. There are other polyurethane calks also.

I like the looks of this stuff. I'm a little nervous about the food safety thing and am wondering if the product seeped past the inner plastic piece so that it would be in contact with water. I'd like to use epdm rubber as a gasket but I can't find smaller pieces. I don't exactly want to buy a 10 x 20 sheet of the stuff! 😃 Thanks for your great videos!

I had that concern also but to be honest the contact area would be so small that I don't there would be enough water movement to even pull anything into the water. The system builds up a thin film of "stuff" on the surface of just about everything over time that coats that stuff anyway. Thanks for watching!

I hope you have better luck with this product than i did! I have used the clear and the black and have had very bad luck with it. The black was used to patch a roof on a shed. It ended up cracking and drying out before 1 year was up. Also tried to use it as a window sealant (to fill in the small air gaps between the old fashion window glass) but it just cracked as it was applied where it came in contact with the flat window. Hope you do better than I did. I was very disappointed with the results i got. But maybe there was an issue with how it was store at the store or some other reason it did not work. I look forward to seeing how it works for you. Looks like you got the clear to apply much better than i did so hope this fixes your issue and you get good use out of it :) !!

+Benja's Uber 1337 Hobby So far it seems to do the rick and I liked it better than using just silicone. I did notice that it did take the full 24 hours to cure completely. I thought it was dry before that but it is now rock hard. I will do an update down the road and let you all know how it works out in the long run. Thanks for sharing your experience!

I have a 500 gallon plastic (it is roto molded plastic - whatever that is) cistern that is full of water. There is a 2" threaded outlet at the bottom of the tank with a plastic pipe screwed into those threads and a plastic on/off valve screwed onto the pipe. The pipe, at the tank, has a small leak. I put silicone on that leak many years ago, but tonight I dislodged the silicone and it is dripping... Will this product Flex Seal work for my situation? I would like to remove the silicone and spray this stuff around the pipe coming out of the tank. Will this product work if my pipe/tank is a little wet?

it would need to be dry and not have water pressure around the fitting. Flex seal did need to have it completely dry and I also used several coats before it sealed completely.

I know it's late, but he did not mean it will not take wet or pressure. It has to be applied when your tank is empty, and the place where you will apply it is dry. (And clean.) If you apply it correctly, and the leak itself isn't very big, it should seal it. Then you can fill the tank again.

You have to make sure you use silicone that requires acetone for clean up and not water. If it can be cleaned up with water it will break down in water.

Just used a gallon of Flex Seal (available on Amazon) to seal a 3'x3' exterior area, ONE coat. I'm hoping it works, but right now I do KNOW its coverage area isn't that great. There's almost nothing left in the can. The more you know. o.0

I wish Flex Seal didn't have the "As Seen On TV" logo. Those products always seem sketchy. I'm getting ready to patch one of my barrels and did a bit a research. the designation I would look for is NSF. That means that it has passed a test for being safe around food. Their web site says safe for food and pets once dry. I would not risk my fish and plants on their product even if it was free.
