I agree with this so much. As an "Old Player", I'm no longer interested in the game. I don't want to buy any new horses cause I spent my whole "New Player" time buying horses and doing quests. I remember when I was still a "Free Player" and a "New Player" and would get so excited about updates (horses, quests, tack, etc.) and events such as the Halloween Events, Christmas Events, etc. I got really good and exciting vibes. I remember it so vividly when I unlocked Epona or Golden Leaf. I was so happy. I'd play literally all the time. Now it's just no longer fun.

To be honest it'll probably be the case. They hardly can create a good one for a NPC who never change clothe or hairstyle, so with something like our character ? Nope. They still can surprised us, but I don't have any hope. Photoshop is the only way to have decent looking characters.

Character update is a huuuuuge project. It takes hell of a time. I'd rather they take their time for it to be good, than rush the project and make it look ugly to which I'm so sure the same people who complain that it takes too long, will complain that it looks too rushed.

My love for this game has diminished so much. I've been an end game player for like 3? 4 years? And I used to be very willing to just wait for things patiently. I would gladly take care of my horses by hand everyday, I would do a ton of champs, I would make wishlists of clothes I wanted and I'd do archeology for them, I'd train all my horses, I'd be excited every Wednesday. This year, however, after the whole thing earlier this year, I can't even stand to be in the game for more than an hour. It's so upsetting. Old players, we won't tolerate this for much longer and if Star Stable wants to keep us, then they better change their behavior... But then again they don't care about us. I encourage everyone to not support the game. Don't buy SC. We should do a SC strike again.

If Star Stable doesn't eventually update the characters, new players will see through it and won't buy the game. When I started playing this game I thought, "These character models are really moldy" and that was back in 2016. It's almost 2022 now and I am still astonished they are just gonna leave them un-updated like that. It needs to be continuously called out like this for something to be done. We need to make it so new players will see it. Whether it be on facebook comments, instagram comments, and so on. And then Star Stable will feel like they have no choice and finally do it. That's what we had to do before to get content, and we'll just have to do it again but for updated characters.

Why should the fact that it will only happen next year reach us through emails? Why not just make a bug announcemment? SSOs biggest problem is their lack of transparency with their players. These videos make me so sad because I remember being the "starstruck" player, I remember SSO being *my* game, I have so many memories of SSO from its early years and well up until 2017-2018. I've slowly stopped playing. I haven't updated my game in well over a year now and likely won't update it or open it again for a long, long time. I have no drive to, why would I anyways? I know once I binge all the content I haven't played yet, I'll be back to square one waiting for better content. I hope one day we all get a game that actually cares about the old player base.

SSO was smart enough to not state directly that they will update our characters in 2021. The wording they had used was vague at best. "We're revisiting our player models" - this could mean literally anything, including just staring at the old models and contemplating about the meaning of life. And what is even worse for me, people kept excusing lackluster 2020 updates with "but SSO is working so hard for us, they're updating old avatars this year!". It's almost the end of 2021. Where is ANY update about current progress? Any behind-the-scenes content? I really doubt we'll be getting it soon. And I REALLY hope this will open eyes of many people, who are still defending SSO with their whole hearts. Because with 44$M revenue SSO should do much better and should care more. They could've easily hired more programmers and artists to help speed things up a bit. But they decided to produce an average quality animated series and publish books instead. They seem to be doing everything but working on their game. Both new horses and new quests take around 3-4 months to complete (saving Fripp took ~3 months including animations, translations etc.). We get the one on regular basis, and the other maybe once a year. That shows where their priorities are. But recently there were some staff changes (new game director and some new programer) so I HOPE this will bring a breath of fresh air as well. And there are some horse games in the making too, so soon SSO can loose their comfortable position of being the only kids-friendly horse game online out there. Maybe that will motivate them a bit.

She became game director. I have absolutely nothing against her, she seems to be a very sweet person with long and personal history with SSO community and I hope that, if anything, this change will be for the better. But it's a change nonetheless.

To be honest, I don't think SSO will ever change- proved by the promises, of lunging, character updates have been promised for almost 2 years now, falling off horses, refusing jumps, winning ribbons, dressage, proper competition format. These were all promised in one way or another.and the bonding mechanic that was promised during the Jorvik wilds release. Also the extraordinary birthday outfit you can buy with real money, is a exact copy of the birthday outfit of 2012. Because players forgot birthday outfits even existed then. Now they are lazy enough to copy the Arabians gaits on to the American quarter horse? That is NOT unique. the horses are robots they can run for days and months if u want, they don't have personality, no emotions, they cant be happy or sad. . They aren't close to seeming "real, majestic, good enough to touch". But like they say "the best view is after the hardest climb" SSO is not willing to make the climb at all.

Team that works on horses is definetly bigger and more payed, since it brings profit. From voices of ex-workers of sso, we know that marketing team is deciding whats done and not only that, sso is working on outdated programs, that makes work of animators harder. So we have situation where they don't have resources to multitask everything in game, so this is why horse making takes most of time. Becouse yhey won't invest in better technology, their main task is to do horses. Sso is a big company, nd belive me, that remaking world, graphics even characters should not take as long as they do. Sso promised to take this year off from quests to take time refreshing game, while what we got are few changes of map, 2-3 horse breeds that were actualy in need of refreshing ( not to mention they managed to screw up consistency of animation and models so for example breeds like connemara who are supposed to be gen 3 like perchons, just makes more chaos, becouse they definetly will need a redo. And most of actual content were new breeds that are not in need of doing now. Sso shading system is most simple as i ever saw, they don't even have proper rendering, lighting and physic system. And even fortnite has this. Outdated, rusty, mixed with a lot of new/old content which makes game look like mess. There is no way, that there other teams get same treatment as horse team. And what i actualy think is happening, is that sso doesn't even have proper number of employes for doing other stuff than horses. And certanly, when you work as 3d model or animator you don't do one stuff. Team of animators and 3d artists do multiple tasks for game, so in many companies, there will be employes who do for example: both characters and characters. Some people who make models for horses are most likely who also make characters. Animators team do most of animations no matter if ita horse or tree. Its just that they are tasked to do horses all time becouse this brings profit

Fun fact! SSE is hiring!! I think this might be because they laid off 6 people last year, all of whom actually created our favorite questlines, story updates, and horses! The single person who primarily worked on Saving Concorde, Fripp, the intro to Wildwoods, Catherine's Diary, and the Flying Foxes questline... Doesn't work for SSE anymore. This ex-employee even said the Glassdoor reviews were TRUE. We've known SSE is going downhill and is bringing SSO down with it for YEARS but we just don't do what we need to do to stop this company, run by people who don't know what they're doing, from running itself into the ground.

Truly, a big thanks for making these kinds of videos. They are really comforting, because just having people around who has similar feelings about sso these days makes me feel less alone. Having people who kinda shares ones own thoughts that something just doesn't feel right. I wouldn't mind them taking their time with programming the model, but if they postpone it to next year, they shouldn't have promised anything at all at the first place. I want to say im a veteran at sso as I used to play it 6 years ago and just got back into it...A LOT as changed.I made a new rider as I wanted to see if there was anything different about the start of the game,I was disappointed.Along side that the Anniversary party was jarring, there where characters I haven't even meet before that treated me like they knew me (actually a lot of characters do that now it seems like) I also wanted to add that SSO doesn't have competition (besides the knock off but its not faring too well) if it had a real competitor aka another equestrian mmo they would start actually making improvements to keep players.

A thing I never understood about Star Stable is why they MUST do an update every week. We know what's coming. It's just some bug fixes or a holiday even. If Star Stable took the time to make updates bigger and more fulfilling by spending more time on them, I think players would forgive the long wait. It sucks that we have to wait so many years because Star Stable keeps getting side tracked with new content. It's stupid. Take World of Warcraft, for example. Every Wednesday, servers are reset. Ever two or three years, a whole new expansion for the game comes out, and every once in a while, maybe every few months, the current expansion gets more content, but it's usually in big packs. If Star Stable did this, I really wouldn't mind. I would hardly notice because the weekly updates do next to nothing for me, anyways :/ I understand with the three tier system and why weekly updates work so well for new players, but that's where they could keep players busy with a bigger update.. It just sucks.

So much truth! The worst of it is, that DCU (another MMO) does weekly online updates, and they do some stellar updates + monthly episodes + it's entirely free. The company has about the same sized team as SSO, so not even the team size is a good excuse. If the weekly updates is difficult, the make it every two weeks. No one would care, and we'd be happy to get better updates :D

@@YTRattle Rattle, I suggest you take a look about updates back in the 2018-2017 and see how many new quests were introduced back then... with much smaller team working in SSO on top of that and much smaller revenue 👀 I started doing my own research and working on a percentage table and the results are... interesting, to say the least. Most of the payable quests and storylines are 4-5 years old!!! And people don't realize that!!! If the game was only quests introduced in 2020 and 2021 then there would be almost nothing to do!

It is sad to think how this game is still running on an old engine, new animations on newer npcs are already breaking, code needs to be super simple so they game won't explode. When is this game is going to reach the absolute breaking point when the technical side of the staff is challenged more and more to do something different than.. you know, collecting or running from place to place or making some npc/animal follow you in very glitchy way. I would absolutely hate to be coding for this game. Edit: I know they don't need to do this, just a thought from an older player. They already get what they want, younger target audience who do not care about these things.

@@catherineheartwood145 Star Stable Online's engine is based in the original Star Stable games which are from the early 2000, with some memory and performance optimization so there is space for new textures and animation. The game is very vulnerable to bugs/glitches and crashing though.

... Why was i already expecting this? Why did i already *know* they weren't gonna update our characters? This is just.. Too much. SSO literally lost all of it's charm, it's now nothing more than a souless money-making machine. All those quests they promised are *never* going to come, we'll *never* see the end of the story. We'll never get dressage, proper racing, actual gameplay changes, etc.. Nothing. Just more and more horses until the game dies. Until everyone finally realizes that SSO is empty. Until multiple important people with a massive fanbase convice others that this game is worthless, and somehow change majority of others's opinions. This just destroys me emotionally. I truly was excited about playing awesome quests, seeing the end of a beautiful story, seeing breath-taking gameplay changes, while bonding with some good looking horses with proper animations that i didn't get by spending a sh*t ton of real life money, but that i got by getting them in the game or simply by paying a lot less than what we pay now. I'm so ashamed of SSO. It's so empty. And i feel empty for them (the ones owning SSO). I only log in to do club lessons, and that's it. Sometimes i buy a new horse with the saved up in-game currency, because i luckily didn't spend a single cent after i bought lifetime. I did buy lifetime 3 years ago, so they did get what the want.. But hey, at least i didn't end up spending 1000+ USD/Euros on the game. Still, our point still stands. This game is like a zombie. Dead, but still walking, looking forward only to "eat people's brains" (metaphor meaning: to find new players to manipulate into spending thousands of money onto their game) I'm disappointed.

@@YTRattle Oh hell no, even the old players who actually BUY sc frequently don't matter to them 😂 (you've probably heard of a player who bought 1k (in addition to her already 1k so she had 2k in total), spent 1600 sc and then next time she logged in she had -600 (because of a problem between the game and her network, no banking problems etc. just a game problem and her sc amount going below 0 > she messaged sso multiple times and they kept saying her that it was her fault and the amount she has is totally right), she had to make an instagram post about it and it had to go viral in the community before sso could actually even return her money to 0 (and no, she never got her full 1k back, the team members were saying that "she ended up with extra star coins" although the sc were clearly taken from her, she didn't receive anything else than she bought). this manipulative company which actually has CHILDREN in their community don't really care about their players' problems or to actually advance the game for the people

Also added on: I think a lot of current players should learn how to code, and I mean learn how to code well. Sso level coding. Then as we grow older, we can attempt to get jobs there. We basically increase the amount of former players working there over time, and eventually give new players and younger players the game we never had. Yes, it’ll take years. Oooh, I remember when someone made that video “100 things to do in Star Stable when you’re bored” or something like that, which included very miscellaneous/roleplay type things (and I have no issues with the video itself) and at that point in time was the height of old players being angry at Star Stable, and then SSO had the audacity to share that video. hi, old sso player here 🙋‍♀️ i really do agree with this video. especially the 3 tiers of MMO part. it all makes so much more sense now and i really do appreciate you for mentioning it :O it opened my mind quite a bit more about how SSO manages things and the business tactics that SSO uses with their players. before i played sso, i had an old online friend of mine that used to play the game. out of curiosity, i decided to give SSO a try. that was 2 years ago in February of 2019 when i played SSO for the first time. i remember being the free player for a little over a few weeks. after trying out the game for a little while, i was hooked. everything was new to me, and the areas and quests, there was so much to explore. because the game looked quite promising back then, and how I’d get on to play everyday to experience SSO, i begged my dad for lifetime star rider. yes, i begged my dad to spend $50 for the full game. (It was on sale back then, thankfully, otherwise I’d be begging to spend like $80 for lifetime, which I find quite ridiculous, considering not everyone can afford $80 for the full game) then i got lifetime, and then, like you mentioned in the video, i was now the new player and was even more hooked to the game 😎 LUCKILY, i wasn’t allowed to buy star coins. otherwise, I’d spend HUNDREDS, or even THOUSANDS just for temporary pleasure. the most I’ve spent on this game is just for my lifetime membership, $50. Ngl me being the new player was super fun if i have to admit. i kinda miss new player me. and all the friends I’ve made and the clubs I’ve used to be in. it was super fun :) earlier this year was when i realized that the game just…didn’t suit me anymore. the updates started to get repetitive and it seemed to be that the only updates SSO has been getting now is horses, rereleases of events and horses, and that’s pretty much it. we did get some updates like wildwoods, revamps of Steve’s farm, silverglade village, and riding hall this year. but that’s quite it. these updates are more cosmetic than actual changes to the gameplay. we barely get gameplay updates. we barely get updates for story quests and lore. if anything, all we’re getting is rereleases of the same content we’ve been getting from previous years, and new horses. all to keep the free and new players going. i understand how new horses and all are SSO’s main income. and i don’t think they’ll stop releasing a ton of new horses at a time anytime soon. no matter how good or bad some of their horses look, many players will buy them anyway just to be updated with the trend. while SSO’s main income is from the new players and their horses, they could’ve gotten even more income and even more good reputation if they would’ve just…cared the actual gameplay and us older players a lot more. then they would’ve not been fishing out for money as much. they could’ve at least organize their schedule or something a lot more better and do half in half releases. half gameplay improvements, half story quests, half horses, and half other random things. but knowing SSO, i don’t think they’ll do that. talking about the new player updates, coding stuff and working on stuff for the game takes some time, but I DO agree with you. why say you’ll finish player updates within the time limit (in this case, during last year and this year…) when these player updates never came to be about? i’d be fine if SSO would be say that they’re just working on the player updates and they’re not sure when they’ll get them done, but why set a time limit when it’ll never be done by that time limit? it’s gonna do more harm than anything if you get what i mean. i do understand in terms of business, you gotta do what you gotta do to get that money 💰 flowing. but you gotta do something to keep the players entertained. maybe if SSO would focus in the older players too, they could’ve gotten a lot more money, value, and good reputation. because right now, SSO is pretty much digging it’s own grave. No hate to the game and the employees itself by the way, I just don’t like whoever manages the company and the decisions and all of that.

There is only a couple reason I keep on playing the game... My club, friends, and my channel. I swear, if we don't get the character update by 2022 I am going to quit. Star stable hinted a new racing system this year... Doesn't sound like they are giving us that either. What about the Dark Core update they promised us too? I started in 2016 after a friend introduced me to it, and I absolutely loved the game back then. When I reached level 20, I just felt like I had nothing to do and would only log on once every few months, and even then I’d only be there for around twenty minutes. Eventually I just quit altogether because I was dealing with much more important things in real life, but also because I just had no drive to boot up the game. It’s been about a year since I quit playing and it hurts when I think about how I don’t actually care and I have no regrets about doing so. This game got me through some of my years at high school before everything went downhill for me mentally, but now SSO practically means nothing to me, and this is only furthered by the fact that SSO don’t care about older players anymore because, as long as they’re making money, they don’t give a damn.

I tried the races - just the same as the old ones, they had some cheesy tour guides - which would have been fine if it has been an extra, and not a whole update. And that's it. I remember being so excited when Epona came out and I could unlock it instantly due to my high level, I was so passionate. The story was awesome and me and my friend spent hours upon hours in Epona. Then that place with the speaking wild horses came out a while back, no idea what it's called. I didn't even finish the first dialog with that weird horse talking about some magic stuff. I am an old new gamer, I played at the beginning when the game came out (they gave a free year of star rider) and I bought the game recently. I have noticed that for being such an expensive game they do not put as much effort into fixing the errors and I no longer only mean that the long-promised new characters will not update them, I mean that the fog gets bugged, the horses stay trapped with random objects and it is difficult to get them out of there (which annoys even more when you are in a race) you go through walls and you can get trapped inside the map (it has happened to me several times trying to climb the Fordpinta fort) the textures are bugged. .. They are programming errors that have not been fixed for a long time, so much so that some of these problems already happened at the launch of the game

I started playing equestrian the game and the difference is Striking. They're a team of only 8 people and since it's still in beta mode there isn't that many different things to do, but they clearly care about the player feedback and even if they only have a handful of horse breeds the individual horses have much more personality and individuality than any sso horse. They want to make a good game, and it shows. Sso just wants to milk their new players of money, and it also shows, very obviously.

I've been playing star stable since 2013 and I stuck with it for a long time and then quit last January. Our last story quest was pretty boring and it was the first in two years! I spent over $600 on this game over the years, and just around 2020 I started to get really bored. I was level 21 and has nothing to do, everything was so repetitive. Do a few races, do some reputation, then log off. Their updates were just more horses, races to keep us busy or some other lame thing. I messaged star stable so many times and they have ignored everything, even cheaters for that matter. I reported the same person three times for using a cheat engine and they didn't do anything for about 5 months. I agree with this 100%. I’m about to vent so if this sounds any sort of disrespect to anybody then my condolences. Plus people have different opinions on certain stuff so power to ya if you have a different opinion than me, just plz understand both sides in respectful manners. Anyways, Tbh I’ve actually been realizing the 3 tier system since other mmos, especially SSO. The sad thing is I still play because I have in game friends that I’ve pretty much grew up with in almost my 9 years of SSO and as an old player I’ve especially seen how SSO went from how it used to be back then. Plus in terms of good stuff at this point with them I’m at a I’ll believe it when I see it. Aka you can keep saying you’re working on it, but I’m not gonna believe you until I see progress on it or the day it comes out. If they just start showing transparency with stuff other than horses then maybe there would be a little bit of faith before they slowly stop doing it. The only time they’ve done “transparency” was when they showed grey scales of the gen 3 friesian (which in my opinion is one of the most messed up breeds in this game after the build up that would need it’s own post to describe why it’s so half done) and Gotland pony cause they knew that most of the community loves the friesian and they wanted them to think they care about their opinions when at this point they don’t care unless it affects their money. In terms of content they don’t even have actual completions with disciplines that aren’t race like, no activities that are actually exciting to do that lasts, long periodically times to wait for the next installment of story quests when if they actually finish the main story they could’ve had different story archs after the need to beat garnok and so much more offered ideas that never got to see the light of day. I just wish they would take account of older players because in my opinion they only got 2 years left and the only way that’s gonna turn into they’re getting better status if they start being more inclusive in character design (from different hairstyles to need to think about other genders more than just girls because at this rate they’re not inclusive in terms of the LGBTQIA+ community if they only fill certain ones with having sprinkled characters in the environment which this could also be talked about for another day), acknowledge more than the target audience, think more about game content, listen to equal sides of the opinions and constructive criticism and most importantly they need to take a break off the horses. A horse game is more than just buying a horse and training it to then sit catching dust in a home stable. A horse game is actually having an adventure with your horse with a bond and you do more stuff than races, champs and endlessly running on a 3D game. If you don’t think that’s a horse game then idk what is compared to pc horse games that actually define what a horse game adventure is from the story to horse mechanics. This is so so true, it is exactly how SSO sees the players. It is all about money! I loved the ending too, where you showed the inspiration within the community and all the wonderful ideas people have. We have to realise that, as a bunch of people who just wanted a good horse game, that SSO just doesn't do it. That game isn't going to be Star Stable. This is why we get sad...when they fail with their promises because they sold us a story of care, of good hearts, of justice and conquering evil when all along they just wanted our money. They told us, and keep tellng us, that we matter. They made us feel they were on our side. I guess we just have to keep waiting for that kind of horse game. I'm not waiting for Star Stable to do it anymore, or to be the game we all know it could be. That type of game still doesn't exist.

I've lost exactly all the love for this game that I had. I started playing in December 2012. I struggled with reading and wow. Starstable taught little me how to read. I quit riding horses IRL at some point and SSO was a big support to me, cus I didn't want to quit but I had to. I played every single day, I took care of my horses every single day because I found it fun, now I don't because it's boring and it would take me hours. (STABLE CARE SHOULD NOT COST STAR COINS!) I played for many hours a day and I met extremely nice people there. Me and my best friend irl became friends because of SSO! We we're so excited every Wednesday to come home so we could play together. Oh, every Wednesday you sat at school just wanting to go home so you could see the new update. And then... As I grew older, the game became more and more directed towards kids. JoJo Siwa and they completely changed the way quests were written. I remember the quests being written in a way all ages could enjoy, now it's just extremely childish. I'd say the quest we're for teenagers. I loved that. SSO has always had the problem for endgame players: Nothing to do. I barely play nowadays. I've been an endgame player for over 8 years. I am 16 now and I only log every now and then to see what's going on. I absolutely despite the new graphics, everything looks like plastic toys. I adored the old graphics, even if they are worse than what we have now. I miss how Christmas was in SSO. I miss the old Halloween event where you searched for ghosts. I miss eastern, I miss the time when the oldest model of the pony came out and I picked the white one to match my favorite pony irl. I miss StarStable's second birthday. I miss old StarStable, it was truly a big part of my life and helped me when I was being bullied at school.

this couldn't have been more accurate. I sadly have no motivation for logging on anymore, and I only started playing last year. Maybe they would gain more revenue if for once they just gave US what we wanted. I luv this game so much and I'm not even an OG. But I have more important things in my life to focus on, and if this game isn't a "I just have to play every night' thing, I will probably just give up on it all together.

This really surprised me! It's your tenth birthday, like even a small 100SC would be great! But they're just getting more and more greedy. And the second you complain that we didn't get any SC for the birthday, you get the instant backlash of "But we got a FREE HORSE AND A FREE PET!!!!!!!!!" Which is true, and fair.... but they do realise that the pet and horse were just basic reskins of older models? There isn't any effort put in - not eve a unique animation. To top it off, I don't like the birthday horse... I've never liked Paint colours, and it just looks boring.

As much as the horse is nice ( I don't like pets so I won't judge the rabbit), I'd prefer the amount in SCs, and being able to buy what I want. Here they only did like those persons who chose a gift according to their own tastes and not to the ones of the person which will receive it. They constantly claim that they want everyone being able to enjoy the game and gifts but do the exact opposite. And the whole event is a bit empty, even with the NPC chatting. It feels like every NPC is having friends while our character is still alone.

It's so.. so tiring to see this. I spent quite much money the last years (just for my horses to get deleted but that's another story) and even if it was for horses, I was looking so forward for the story. Now where I am? I forgot all story. Checking every Wednesday for new updates but all I feel is just disappointment. I want a character update, I want new story. This is something we will never get cause we, late game players don't exist. I've been level 20 for 3 or more years. And where am I? Only halfway. If a "last online" thing existed, for me it would write "last online a month/two months ago." This sucks so much.

So many projects have been scrapped or delayed since 2018... We never heard anything about the quest with GED after saving Herman, the same goes for the Kallters leaving through the icengate, Lisa's secret mission, helping the singing yew after asking it for a favor, Updating hollow woods, updated darkriders (again this year it was promised after it was scrapped last year but it seems like that's going to be happening again), character updates, Mazarin the witch (she was supposed to show up during the saving Fripp quest, so it seems like saving Fripp was already planned out way before saving Anne and the fact that the dialoges became childfriendly but again she was a scrapt idea.. and waking up Fripp got pushed forward till this year cause the new management wants more horses to get money for themselfs and not their hardworking team..) and so many more things.. I feel like when the new management team took over at sso since 2018/2019/2020 when all that weird new stuff begun to happen (updated stuff in game, prioritising horses for money, neglecting players opinions etc.) Like i mentioned so many promised updates that never happend really sad.. It seems like the team was working really hard on their original planned ideas untill the new ceo destroyed it and turned sso in to a money hungry game..

As a player who hasn’t finished all the story quest I still have things to look forward too. But I feel like it’s wrong that the company views old players as “worthless” and continues to release horses. When they could be getting more money by releasing more quests keeping the old players interested in the game. So I’m starting to think that eventually people start realising what star stable is doing and will stop playing the game. I hope this causes star stable to realise what they doing and start making promises that they’ll keep.

One thing SSO doesn't realize is that new players won't join the game if the characters look old and outdated compared to other games. The first thing you see is the character and if you see that it looks weird, or outdated technology wise you assume the rest of the game is. At least that's what I thought when I found the game in 2019 I thought the players were genuinely terrifying and I decided to wait to invest time in a game with bad graphics. I told myself I'd come back in a year or so once the game and grown a bit. After seeing KZbin videos and realizing how much I'd love the storyline I joined in December 2020 despite my dislike of the characters. If it wasn't for those videos, I would never have joined because the game at first site looks outdated with the characters and the first npc you see being crusty Justin.

I think they need to remake Star Stable all together, but they won't for reasons said in this video. Re new characters: I think the whole game design (what I mean is the game engine, or the coding that it uses) is flawed to start with, eg how the reins interact with horses, the way the tack clips through the horses they have now. What about how the current character is so glitched when feeding/grooming, hoof picking etc? What about the "mysterious" breaking of horse gaits? They had to exclude older gen horses from new tack designs as they won't work with older models. If you think about it, if they can't get the old horse models to work with new tack designs that says to me there will be BIG issues with all the game clothing, horses, reins etc and a new character. Will this new, amazing character even sit on the horse properly? How is this new character going to behave with old gen horses (the tack issue makes this one look very possible) How many gens of horses, types of horses, gaits, sizes do they have to get it to work with? How are all the old clothing items going to fit the new character (this is a massive issue I think)? The character they have now doesn't even work that well as it is. The legs look weird on different horses, the reins always go through the neck of the horse, sometimes the character floats above slim horses (gen 2 arabian being a great example), sometimes your leg clips through the horse, the character can look frozen when riding etc etc. SSO might update the character, but like last time they will probably only tweak it. They made a BIG promise but they will probably never meet expectations.

Another great video. This is really disheartening news. There's so much they need to do with the character models, it'd be great for once to include the community from start to finish. Not to... create something by committee so to speak, but at least keep us informed in what is going on. A longer roadmap or admit they need to start from scratch. New types of races would be really awesome. It would be cool to have harness and thoroughbred-type stadium tracks. Maybe also have to train your horse to specialize in these in addition to the leveling.

LOL and my in game friends were saying that I was wrong about that... I knew they would never release it in 2021. And to be honest I'm not even sure for 2022. If a random little quest took them half of a year, imagine something like all the characters and clothes, and hairstyles... I'm not sure that we'll see well made characters in fact, as they don't seem to make any real effort in anything than horses. As an old player, I'm only here for knowing what happen in the story now, there's not any exciting thing ever in that game. There was a time where they were creative enough to make us really want to solve mysteries, now it's more "oh, let's unlock that place to help boring NPC n°245 to reach a location to find boring NPC n°256. No real story behind, no mystery, no interest. But a brand new shop unlocked with a dumb and bland reputation thing with very expensive recolored items. I'm just sad it ends like that, it was just so promising years before. They never managed to re-create that sort of cottage/village core aesthetic they made with the old christmas event, the old english countryside of the old Moorland and the more "realistic" homemade halloween event. Now it's not a world with little bits of magic, it's a boring generic magical world pretending to be hidden. I miss that atmosphere so much !

What truly breaks my heart is that I’ve been with this game since day 1, spent loads of money..they charged me always double the amount I paid for and the issue was never fixed. I keep coming back to this game after being banned and treating like garbage from this game I truly have hope they can make changes. @@YTRattle We could also really try something that requires self control, and post on their pages that we shouldn't but SC. Not for a month. Less of a strike, and more like a war of attrition. Tell them that if they give us one main quest, we'll buy again kind of thing. Then just repeat the holdout for each issue, bringing up each at a time. Like training your dog. You don't get the treat, until you do the trick. After you get one treat, you don't get another until the next trick. And that barking/sticks aren't tricks. You're going to do that regardless.
