Hacked accounts + Lackluster updates!

Full disclosure: I am not well-versed in hacking, nor have I had my SSO account hacked. But, from what I could tell from my rudimentary research, it is not that difficult to hack into accounts and is even practiced specifically to make money. I Recently finished the Druid training and got the RuneRunner, and it made me realize just how dry this game is. Not even a sandbox. Just dress up and walk around, so some small mini games and that’s it. When I say that as a non Star rider years ago is fun more than a Star rider right now I mean it

I love the game but these updates make me lose motivation to love it like I used to. I’m sure that the actual SSO team want great things for us but the Management and tools are keeping them low.

They dropped those events (IMO) to give them more time to focus on their new game. I think it's a slow gutting of the game to eventually just kill it off. I do hope I'm wrong. But yeah, at least we're getting an event :)

Regarding the W thing, that update was made for people who have disabilities. Now, they'll have an easier time playing the game. Edit: and the cold tolerance thing has been asked for a little while. Not saying I agree with their decision, but just stating a few things.

I mean, I sorta like the removal of cold tolerance just for the horses who's jump freezes in mid air, but it does make Dino Valley a little more "exciting". I kind of also like it because irl horses speed up when it is cold to increase body temperature.

also I hate the magic coat toggle, I liked the fact my he wanted to be in near civilization. It shows that our horse trusts only us to show his magic coat out civilization. Now the horses seem like lifeless toys, and the character can't even blink! I want the horses and characters to seem like actual living beings. and they're bringing back old things for the entire June

Now if I say this to someone about SSO being lazy and not releasing good content, they yell at me because we got new story quests.. I’m gonna be real, the new quests were pure SHIT. While I didn’t struggle with the Apple race, many people did and some friends of mine, along with random people, spent hours trying to finish. The quest line was insanely boring as well. The end was boring and I didn’t care about Fripp being back. The process of getting him back was boring and I literally wanted to shut my laptop over 15 times in a span of an hour and a half. I don’t get Anne’s decision to take (I forget the item she took but whatever) because it felt rushed and felt like it was only put so we would spend more time playing. I also wish we could choose in the options tab if we want the W button feature on or off. I don’t really care that much but some people might want the option. It makes the game more boring now. Lastly, the cold tolerance. I didn’t go to Dino valley anyways, outside of completing quests, so this didn’t change a lot for me. I’m just annoyed because some people probably have bought cold tolerant horses so they could actually go into Dino, and now they have literally nothing to do with them. I even suggested an idea to SSO once, only to receive “Thanks for the idea, we will forward it” but we all know that this message is pure bullshit. The idea was that the starter horse would be cold tolerant. (Just the starter horse, not the other Jorvik warmbloods) Aren’t they magical? They shouldn’t be affected by the cold. It seems like an excuse to have players spend money to get a new horse. I’ve paid tons of money on this game, for lifetime star rider and a shit ton of star coins. I’m allowed to fucking complain, but SSO, along with the little kids that just started playing, yell at me for having an opinion. I haven’t bought star coins since February, and quite frankly I’m done with SSO. I only log on to see friends or RRP. The game is shitty now and it’s gonna die in a few years if nothing changes. Also, love the content! Keep it up! ❤️

I agree with EVERYTHING you have said I completed all the quests in about a year and a half and sure it was fun but now that all my horses are maxed I have nothing to do but rp or something and it's absolutely absurd and I used to play everyday al day as much as possible now I just sit and wait for my friends to log on and rp. I don't care what star stable says they made this come to it i think i will actually shut down on my star stable for a while.

Well said! SSO needs to change their policy, and you're right they might share those ideas, but they won't actually do anything with them. It is sad to see the game founder after so many years of excellent content. It's like their passion got sucked out when they were put under new management.

Yeeess. I felt that the quest for fripp was very rushed and a million things missing with it. I was very depressed to see this. I think it was foreshadowing anne and the -clover?- missing and they seemed like they were gonna have us chase after anne possibly from changing her horse discord into an adult (maybe she would learn a lesson and accept her horse the way he was or he would be turned into an adult). But NOPE just rushed. Quick, Simple, Dull, etc. What a heart break...

Star stable is becoming boring, honestly. I've been playing star stable for years. The newest story line quest only took me an hour to complete. I wish sso would listen to us. Such as the pintabians, they're OP. I want to do champs on other horses, but if I want a ribbon I have to race on my pintabian..

Me and some others told them that the things we buy in game should just come with receipts so that potentiall hackers, or people that somehow managed to guess passwords don't destroy your game experience. SSO just told us "There are no hackers, if you lose things it's your fault" 🥴 Like what game says that...

a money hungry serpent of a company shoves it down a 5 year old who didn't even start school yet, and says its their fault. Plus they won't even refund the star coins u lost due to their ignorance, and lack of knowledge of hacking. Plus they say don't share a password even with gamesters, the game master can literally can into any account through the database. Like who the hell that is a full adult says that? Plus they know half the coding in the game and they know anything online can be hacked?

This video is really helpful for people out there. I've had a bad experience with my account and quite surprisingly they've restored my horse but mostly because I kept insisting and pushing. So if anyone ever experiences a problem don't be shy and keep spamming them with emails because hacking does happen and if they helped me they must help others with bigger issues as well.

Don’t get me started with how annoying the “E” key is now, I can’t even type without getting put in my HS or opening random things, you can “Turn it off” but all it does is hide it. I’m so tired of it especially commanding dressage for my club. And the bugs the Jorvik fresian bridles are still glitched, you can put the Arabian bridle on any horse, like do better sso. I’ve been playing for around 5 years and it’s just gotten worse. Maybe I’m stuck on doing the Jorvik Shillings glitch but that helps me still play the game. The amount you get from everything is sickening. I used it yesterday and spent over 100 thousand alone ;) thx for reading my paragraph. 🤩

fair warning: i've gone on a bit of a rant rampage here buuut i couldnt stop myself when i got going....whoops my god i cant even express how much it pissed me off when they removed the cold tolerance feature. theyve been adding more and more updates that are slowly giving up every ounce of immersion it provided players, and it feels so GOOD to hear someone talk about this (not at all to surprised it turned out to be you). i feel like this was on its way to becoming a problem when they added the global store. i know a lot of people loved that update, and im not going to lie it did make some things easier, but the execution could have been done MUCH better if they'd put any thought in it. trust me. ive overthought this a lot. i thought it could have been a system much like it is now, but instead of being some interdimensional-shop-portal it could have been sort of an online store you could access through the player's phone, and once its bought you have to actively go to get the item from the mail, like a real delivery. i feel like that way it would have still made this aspect of the game more practical without jeopardizing that sense of immersion. one of the more recent updates was to allow the players to swap magic horse coats manually...really loved by players but i do wish they'd have made it like an extra feature instead, or maybe added an extra toggle that makes it automatic again. i get why a lot of the magic horses dont have the abilities they SHOULD...(looking at you kampos and tellina) but this doesnt even make sense from a story perspective. and am i the only one who didnt even notice they removed the slowing down thing and just continued on spamming the forward button as usual. no? ok.

lol! I actually spotted that updated and added a brief image with a comment about the W function. It is ridiculous! THAT was also immersive, horses get tired and slow down, you need to egg them on to keep them at top speed! SIGH. And there are so many smarter and more efficient ways to deal with shops. So many games have designated shops, why couldn't they have opened branches across the island? That would have been fine as well, but leave some of the best gear at the Mall? Immersion, it's not that difficult, at least for most games it's not :\

YES. The speed/slowing down update bothered me just as much, if not more, than the cold tolerance removal. The horses are just becoming more and more robotic. Removing the emoticons and making their mood look like a phone's battery, giving every horse (including horses like Arabians with BARELY any layer of fur) the same speed in an area that is, presumably, negative farenheit temperatures, and making them go at a constant speed forever, I don't like where this is going.

This delivery by mail is a great idea! Do you mind if I put it in front of my game dev partner? We're working on a horse MMO and we don't have a global store mechanic decided (mostly b/c I wanted little branded shops in every village instead of what SSO does) but this whole "by mail" thing could be a great option. Like, maybe make it story related too before you open it. Pick up stuff from the train stations and deliver it. (Thinking hard.)

I totally agree. They could add tack that makes non-cold-tolerant horses cold-tolerant. Or food item that you give to your horse to make cold tolerant for that day. It could be made with the plants we gather in Sarah's workshop

Great content as always! I was pretty surprised at SSO's response to that person being hacked. I had no idea that they handled it THAT badly. Some hackers claim that SSO is not hard to breach at all, with their security being only just slightly better than what it was years ago. I'm very sorry for anyone who has experienced getting hacked and had to deal with SSO's garbage.

The only thing which isn't logical for me is: why would a hacker be interested in SSO ? They don't gain anything in it, as opposite as some other MMORPG where money circulate more easily. Plus except kids and horses fans, almost nobody knows about SSO and wouldn't even think about it. Most of the time, the players who pretended to be hacked where the first ones to say that they used to give their passwords to their besties because they trusted them or to share the computer with a sibling, or having too personal and easy to find passwords like the name of their pet. In those conditions, I doubt there's a lot of real hackers in SSO.

I'm sure theres a lot more hackers than we think because most people probably dont talk about it. Reasons for someone to hack people's accounts can include revenge, jealousy, boredom, outright evil, to seem cool or intimidating, etc. A lot of SSO players are old enough to know or learn how to hack, and apparently SSO has really weak/outdated security. Yeah, people fake being hacked to get currency/horses/items, and that's probably why SSO is this way with hacked accounts, but I have experienced many hackers in the many years I have been playing SSO, and know of a lot of people who have been hacked and lost everything. But I do get what you're saying - hackers dont really gain anything, SSO is a game with lesser players, and that a lot of players give away their passwords; I experienced that with a friend of mine, who gave me the password to their account (I never did anything with it, and do not have it anymore). A lot of hackers hack SSO for who knows why. Too many people do get immaturity with passwords confused with hacking cases, hence why SSO no longer believes when people say they have been hacked, but like I said, there are probably a lot more hackers than we think. (Not to mention that people are probably doing it more nowadays because they have become too old to enjoy the game or because the game is boring, and they want a source of fun.) i havent logged on since the Arabian, bought one with my weekly allowance they give me then got off. the games dull and stupidly boring. the stans attack people for giving legit feedback and concerns. they promised huge changes this year and literally? nothing so far. the story quest wasn't even hyped up and was so short. you woke him up? awesome. lets have someone run away to drag out these missions further whike you wait another few months or years for that section of the story to continue. the world you play in? empty. fishing isnt even fishing only if your doing a quest. you cant fish when you want for shillings or horse food or anything not even recycling items for the newest quests. like theres so much they can do yet dont do it

And the cold tolerance gave a reason to buy a horse. Plus I got hacked and lost 15,000 star coins and 14 horses. I also feel like the customer service answers are kind of "ready" answers and can be monitored by bots too - ever so often I've gotten an answer which is no way dealing with the thing I actually talked/asked about in the message/complain I sent. It is a shame that they don't take any interest (I also understand it as it's a game for kids and some little kids get "hacked" as they give their details away when they don't know/think enough about where they are going). I also understand the point of removing the flashing horse and the W as indeed it can be a problem for disabled people, but it also should be an optional thing which you can switch on and off however you like - I am also concerned why SSO hasn't made any disability updates before - for example, a game colored correctly for certain kind colorblind people, though they certainly WANT and CAN make updates for different kinds of people. For the cold tolerance, I have kind of mixed feelings - I think it's good that any kind of horses can run fast there but it could have been done through lots of other ways (for example the blankets) other than HAHHA BOOM NO FREEZING ANYMORE - or giving the starter horses the ability to run there. I haven't played the game since the story quests which felt good but kind of meaningful - I just have kind of lost the spirit to play and the story quests didn't give any more spark to the game in the first place. I don't even log on for updates because I have played them before and I feel like they are more likely to take something from the game. I also heard a rumour about the new Silverglade update that the club house would be going away and ahhhhh I just don't feel like playing anymore - I hope I get the spirits to play sometime again but not right now.

Also, the claiming of "disabilities" is kind of strange since indeed there are thousands of different disabilities - for example, me myself and I have problems with concentrating and I need the flashing horse to keep my focus (for example while doing dressage). I am not against other people suffering the other way around, but being able to choose would be the most realistic and best way to cooperate with people with all kinds of disabilities. The removing also ties in with the realisticness with the game - my horse doesn't trot or canter endlessly, even though it wanted to. I kind of miss the logic of the old Star Stable games (Autumn Riders, for example) which actually had you FEED and GIVE WATER to your horse for it to be able to run, to be better in competitions. The care of your horse actually mattered almost all of the time - yes it was boring but also kind of challenging and really put you up in the mood of no, you and your horse can actually get tired. Also the cold tolerancy seemed really fastly scrapped out of the game without any actual thought or base to the update - they just did it and didn't care less for ideas and suggestions. I understand the idea behind it but they need to do better. I feel like SSO is making lazy decisions and updates. I appreciate their work a lot but I'd rather see fully-finished, brilliantly working, completely thought through and actually necessary and important updates (features, gameplay, quests etc.) than fastly scrapped for the purpose of something and then forgot to look at the other sides to the thing. I wouldn't even be mad if SSO gave updates once every two weeks to just balance the QUALITY of everything. I am glad they are making different kinds of changes to the way but they also should concider different kinds of ways, suggestions and players. I really love the game but I wish they actually cared more about the players and everything. I know they do care, but I feel like it's not enough for the community to be happy.

They removed the "W" function, because some people with disabilities were having a difficult time while playing the game. But I do think that the "W" feature should be in the options, if you want it or not. And it is difficult to hack into accounts, since you need access to the database. Even skilled coders that make SSO hacking programs do not have access to the database, it really isn't that easy.

It is actually. I spoke to a man who has done it a few times, he actually helps players who have lost their accounts when SSO won't get up and do it. On the topic of the 'W' function. I sincerely hope that's the honest reason why they changed it, at the same time, I do hope it's not just a way to get brownie points from the internet. Unfortunately, companies will sometimes use minorities for internet clout. But, I don't want to be cynical, so let's hope they really did it to help people with disabilities :)

Also, I would like to add that although it is a good idea to make games more accessible to your disabled players if all games did that we would, unfortunately, have games that are not engaging and competitive to players who are not disabled. And where does it stop? How much do they have to remove until all disabled players can enjoy the game? I don't mean to be insensitive, and I am glad that games are offering disabled players possibilities as well, but they make up a very small part of the SSO community, and in the end, you'll start losing other players because the game will become too easy for them.

As a disabled player the best way to make your game inclusive and accessible is to have accessibility options, not to reduce everyone to the same level of skill. It's still easier for everyone else, you haven't levelled the playing field in that scenario you've just put everyone up the same amount and I'm still falling behind in the same ways. It's also not fun to know other people are enjoying the game less because of you and is really insulting to be used as a scapegoat in this way. This is the first time SSO has made me genuinely angry because they clearly did no research and had no or little input from the disabled community. I'm sick of companies using my disability status as a smoke screen

Or maybe the ability to change the raceway point color to make it easier to see. I am visually impaired. I have enough vision to see most of the game but I do not have enough vision to read most of the text, especially the chat. When I read quests I usually take a picture of it and then enlarge it on my phone.

Great video! Honestly the cold tolerant feature was really special to me because it gave everyone a reason to own at least one draught horse or other cold tolerant horse. For once we weren't buying these horse because they were just pretty, we bought them for a purpose, they were practical. But now they even went ahead and announced that they won't implement these kinds of mechanics anymore... So I guess we will never get the desert area for the Marwaris and Arabians? At this point I would love it if they took the training from the horses app and invented something similar into the game, but then again the thing that makes the app training more bearable is the glitch that allows you to finish your horses training in 20 minutes, even then I would love the training to be anything else than just doing races. And f*ck stable care. But they won't do it because this is another way that they scam players. Stable care adds up fast even if you only pay for it every other day its still 105 sc per month. Nothing more ironic than buying new horses and feeding them your star coins- Seeing this whole hacking thing made me quite speechless. Just how are you meant to never get hacked on an online game? And how can it be so difficult for SSO to just give back the things that were stolen? Yeah there are going to be kids trying to scam the customer support for sc but its better than not helping when your account gets genuinely hacked. Just wow.

The first e-mail they send is always and automated "What did you do?" response. Always love that. =_=; Star stable can't be that hard to hack because they can't *afford* high class anti-hack software. Their game is so poorly protected you can make custom coat colors and share them online for other people to DL so they can see your custom horses and use them too. What MMO doesn't cross reference their server and client side data to the point players can remove tack and elements from the game to get better times and scores on races? That's not hacking that is lazy AF game design. The spoilers people do every month for new horses? Yeah that shouldn't be possible. Not that I don't appreciate it, I love that people do that but it shouldn't be happening and it wouldn't if SSO protected their data. Also it shouldn't be such an issue for SSO support to go in and undo the things that happen to accounts because unlike 99% of MMO's there is *no trading system* on this game. The only reasons for people to Hack this game is to sell your account or settle some revenge on the account holder or SSO Staff... or troll. That is the most insulting, passive aggressive email I think I've ever seen. A lot of their player base are little children. Imagine how scary it would be to ask for help because you lost so many things from your account and to receive a really scary angry email like that. And there are some adults who play the game. A few days ago someone sent me a screenshot of the text about the cold tolerance being removed. The night after that, I had a angry dream about it, if you can describe it like that. I, or someone else, was ranting and looking at the text very angrily in my dream. After I woke up, I had to check if the text was real because I couln't really believe that they would remove the cold tolerance. It's just been there so long and it was kinda special. I liked the cold tolerance. Edit: If someone here likes the removal of the cold tolerance though, I respect that and I can see why.

Love your videos as always :) I have a slightly different view on SSO accounts being "hacked". I believe that when this happens, it's mainly because the person has either shared their account information, they've downloaded something that unknowingly contains malware or they're not being careful when they're online and go to unsafe websites or click on sketchy links, which results in login information being compromised. And not just your SSO credentials, all of them can be compromised. I'm definitely not saying that it's impossible for SSO's servers or any game's servers for that matter to be breached, but I don't think it happens that often. Honestly, I don't even see the point in someone making such a big effort for a game like SSO. It's not like you can transfer anything to another account and I seriously doubt there are enough people out there trying to buy SSO accounts to make all that trouble worth it. I've seen it happen in games like WoW because people can actually make real money off accounts in a game like that, but SSO? Nah. I've been gaming online for 20+ years, playing a big variety of games and I can honestly say that I've never had any of my accounts compromised. But I'm also very careful about what I'm doing and where I'm going online. I use antivirus/malware programs, I stay FAR away from Internet Explorer and use extensions to block ads and scripts. I'd like to see SSO to create a two-factor authentication system for an extra layer of protection, but that's probably wishful thinking lol I don't think it would kill SSO to give a player the benefit of the doubt once and restore whatever items they lost, but make it clear that it's a one time thing - unless of course it was something on SSO's end that caused the compromise. Moral of the story - be mindful of your browsing/downloading habits while you're on the interwebz!

But years ago, in many cases of "hacking" or "pirates" they gave back all the lost items, horses and money to the players without even asking for screenshots or proofs. The problem is that so many kids have cried wolf and claimed that their accounts have been hacked then publicly admitted that it hadn’t really and now they have all these free horses and star coins that it’s given all players a bad name. It’s also common knowledge that kids lie to their parents to keep out of trouble. So it’s these people that are to blame for this That said I really think they should have some kind of feed in game that goes something like: 20:00 You logged in: IP address xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx 21:02: You successfully purchased a Jorvik wild horse for 975 SC. It is now in your stable 21:09 You successfully purchased a purple city blazer for 10,000 JS. it is now in your inventory 00:00 you successfully sold a Gotland Pony. It has gone to a good home. 00:05 you successfully sold a Jorvik wild horse. It has gone to a good home. you get the idea….. That way both you, staff or parents could keep a tab on what’s going on and investigating these things would be far more efficient!!

Yes but if we're talking about kids here, they don't have there own email accounts they rely on parents to give them an email account to contact sso, and the parents would have connected the email to a phone number for security the kids obviously don't have the number. SO they can't change the email's password, as the phone number is needed as well as many other steps. And the parents can see if a person tried to use the email from a different device. And not to mention the parents can log in to the email and check all the recent mails and old ones, so can't make. lies at all. Though I agree people really hard to squeeze star coins out the company and most have failed.

Cold tolerance, starter-only Pandoria, pushing on w, all make SSO "magical." Dino valley and pandoria were all special because of it. The E- button thing was not needed. It's not hard to click on something. It was like just to push out another update.

4:12 I've came up with a theory about that myself. I found myself taking care of my horses and wondered why it's this way. First off, if you don't pay star coins, your horses get in a bad mood. I'm often riding a new horse instead of my old ones because I refuse to pay my weekly coins for stable care... It's ridiculous. If we were to spend coins in care every week that's 49 Star coins, half of what we get weekly. So, no. They won't change that. It encourages players to buy new horses who will be in a perfect mood and fast and fun. Either that or pay half your weekly SC to keep your horses boosted, which nobody wants to do that.

Yeah, I agree. When the new team came in, SSO is an "old game." It honestly, I don't think would take a great deal of money in MMO terms to put the game into a new engine and "Remaster" it. They could do an awesome amount of things with the amount of profit SSO is raking in for them if they bothered. And they'd get back a lot of players. Totally agree. That's what I thought immediately when they started to modify all the start of the game and offered to the non stars to jump. Maybe it was a small detail, but if you literally give up on the main thing which made people being interested, it's because you don't care anymore. Thank you so much for making this video and bringing this issue to the players' attention. It's been known something like this has been happening for quite some time, but I hadn't believed they would actually be THIS ignorant. *SPOILER ALERT FOR THE LATEST STORY QUEST AND A SSO BOOK* Furthermore, today, they released a post regarding the making of the last quest. Although they said they had been thinking about it for much longer, they started with everything in January and had it released in May. Cool. However, let's say the production took them 6 months. Why did we have to wait for like two years for an actual story quest? They always say they're always working on the story quests, but this seems a little contradicting to me. Moreover, they stated they took this idea from a 2016 (!) lore book which already had this very story written in it, meaning they didn't have to come up with much. I understand they had to do the excessive writing and thinking how they want this particular quest to end, but I mean the already had the core, which in my opinion is the most difficult to come up with. Now, while I did enjoy certain aspects of the quest, I do not like how it played out and how they treat the Soul Riders' powers like it's a toy - the apple zapping race. I haven't finished reading the third SSO book yet, but I know they say the catastrophe was caused because of them distracting the Pandoric energy by using their magic too much. I mean, isn't zapping apples a little irresponsible, too? One would think they'd learn. And again, I do understand why they incorporated this part into the quest, but I wish they hadn't. And regarding them taking away everything which contributed to immersion... I have no words anymore. If they want to make the game more accessible to disabled people, go for it! But make it an option, do not take it away from everyone. It's funny how they removed the cold-tolerance trait, saying it disadvantages people who do not have a cold-tolerant horse (despite the fact players have a lifetime to obtain one), yet right a week after, they release a race for only three breeds which stays in the game for two weeks. Meaning, if you want to play that race, you need to get one of the breeds in a very short time period - unless you have it already, of course. At this point, I feel like giving up. The game has become too shallow. There are no personalities anymore and no real engagement. Easy does not always equal fun.

I know I'm late and it has nothing to do with the video but this reminded me of something. I bought stable care before I logged off. It was pretty late already and because I was tired I didn't check if the horses got actually taken care of. When I logged on later that day I noticed that all of my horses still were in a bad mood and didn't get fed etc. so I looked at my star coins and the 7 star coins I paid for stable care were gone. I thought maybe it's just a bug but the next day the horses still weren't taken care of. This happened two times and I decided to contact Star Stable. This was their reply: ''Don't worry the stable care takes care of all your horses, even the ones on the pasture. She does this every 24 hours. Perhaps you checked at a time when she wasn't done with her daily round.'' I even added a screenshot to the email I send them where you can clearly see that I have 1 day stable care but the horses haven't been fed.

If a player loses their horses, clothing, etc it only means an increase in star coin purchases. I also don't believe Star Stable has a foot in the real world when it comes to cyber-attacks. Some people may say that there is "magic" but to be really honest , most games nowadays go one the line of : "You are the magical chosen one and have powers" or "collect magical horses!" I feel about the same as you do , I know the characters are being updated but EVERY.SINGLE.WEEK it's just horses , bug fixes , races , occasional bridles or updated area and it just repeats! I miss the excitement for sso horses. Now we just buy horses because the look pretty. Before I remember the excitement of being able to buy a horse and say “This is a great racing horse!” or “This is such a great horse for a club horse!” There was a *reason* behind buying horses, not the cosmetic part of it. I was so excited to buy an icelandic so I could do the race! I was so excited to get a cold tolerant horse to go into Dino Valley! Horses had *meanings*. None of that happens anymore! Just here’s a pretty horse. They took away the cold tolerant thing, so nothing special about buying a North Sweedish or Icelandic for example. They made all horses the same speed, so nothing special about getting a certain horse. The only thing left is the Icelandic horses, the race, but I am sure when they update the Icelandics they will just recolor 5 new bridles, say it’s an icelandic bridle, and take the race away. Nothing new. Nothing special.

I don't play SSO but everything I've heard about it and how it's been being dumbed down and simplified lately reminds me strongly of Horseland. HL was for years a reeeally strong online game community with most players being 15-25 roughly some older. It had complex economy systems, coding, chat forums, clubs, etc. Suddenly the game devs started making changes (making things easier including changing the game economy to do so and changing the entire color scheme to pinks and purples). Then the stupid show happened which was aimed at like 5-10yr olds? And the entire game changed. Cartoony horses, the home screen had auto music of a kiddy theme show and was sparkling pink, etc. Sooooo many player left and while there was a brief surge of kids playing due to the show, those kids were paying for premium accounts like previous players had been. And with more and more old player leaving the community was slowly erased and the entire website ended up shut down. It still breaks my heart thinking about it honestly.

I want to share some experiences about poeple that I know and they had been hacked. The first one was MY SISTER, in 2015 or something like that. I was playing and then I saw my sister account online and then I was like: "wait, my sister isn't in her room..." But I didn't say anything to her in real life. I send a message and then my sister entered into my room and well... She was not playing it. A very important point is that my sister NEVER said to ANYBODY even her real name and she care a lot about her account. She start to crying and the hacker say to me: "Now I'm going to hack you". I was terrified. We send a missage to SSO and they told us that it was impossible. At that age, star stable fandom on Instagram (or at any other social media) It wasn't something normal, or at least in spanish community. And well, WE WERE KIDS, of course we haven't had any social media. The point is, we tell to star stable to check ALL the missage she send to anybody and comprove that she never said even her fucking e-mail. Well, they did it and tell us: "so sorry but she only can have back her horses, not any shillings, star coins or items". So yeah, my sister lost almost everything. The second story is about this year. Yeah, now I have Instagram and I meet a boy in post telling that he has been hacked. I tried to help him and the told me his situtation: somebody with a SSO Instagram account ask to him if I would like have more star coins (redflag) and he said no, but that person insisted SO MUCH. Finally, the account ask for the server which he was playing for "being friends". He didn't say even is e-mail account or password. His name on SSO was the same as Instagram and then, two hours later, his account of SSO was hacked. The hacker only need to know our name and server. And the story gets worts: the hacker not only into his SSO account, they tried to enter and HACK HIS E-MAIL. THEY ALMOST GOT IT. My friend change his e-mail in SSO (for doing it u have to pay money) and SSO didn't take care. "It's your fault". Excuse me? We are not talking about if someone say to someone else they password. The hacker with only knowing your name and server, can do everything that they want. I don't know why I still playing this game. It have a lot of bugs, the story is... well, changing (to bad) and it's not even secure. And well, we pay a lot of money for this...!

My main account recently got banned. I purchased the leaked birthday clothing like most people did, and ended up getting banned. I am aware I violated their rules, but it's unfair that not everyone that did it did. Edit: The game files are also so easily accessed... I have never done any coding before, but I found that you can easily access them using a program. #wakeupsso

You need to spam the customer service and let them fully know that you are mad when you really want something from them. Right now I have the problem, that I can't see the golden horseshoes for the birthday update. Told them that they do not spawn, so I can't collect any. They told me that I need to talk to the person before I can collect the horseshoes... yeah, like I'm too stupid to start a quest, after playing through the whole game... Anyways, I told them that I did, I told them that on my other account everything works fine. After they told me that they are sorry because apparently it's to hard for me to find them I got pissed and told them that they should stop making excuses for their mistakes. Everytime I contact the support, they tell me it's my fault or my computer's fault or whatever they can think of. I've got the feeling that don't even care anymore, just put in some ready answers and that's it. Anyways, after this whole fiasco they told me they will fix it... after they said last week they want to fix it with this weeks (6th october) update. Well, I guess they won't fix anything. They're the masters of breaking promises after all.

these videos always scare me so much about my account being hacked as my parents NEVER buy games and stuff for games so ive had to either ask for star rider or star coins as christmas/birthday presents or save myself and ive almost convinced my mum to let me buy 10,000 sc on the next double star coin weekend and if star stable dosent do anything if your hacked im worried if im hacked my parents will never let me buy anything for star stable again although my brother has a lifetime he never uses and lets me use its not the same as his account has so much less than mine the fact that star stable expect everyone to have reponsibility wether their account has been hacked our not is completely unfair as any other game ive played where ive lost items theyve always given at least half of what i lost back or something at least. Even the halloween updates arent even fun all you do is run around for some crystals to buy stuff im hoping they will at least bring out double star coins for the last weekend of the halloween update so i can buy the fjords but it dosent seem like they will. the only update so far theyve brung out throughout 2020/2021 is the christmas one as i joined in 2020 november and im only level 15 i shouldnt be this fed up with a game i havent even got the time to finish... and some of their updates can be fun like new clothing sets but they never give you a chance to save for any of it they just ram these sales down our throats basically saying: "if you want these new items you have to buy these sales" i would love to get a halloween horse but they havent given anyone enough time to save not to metion one of the balloon pets being 359 star coins for a balloon with a pumpkin face on it i havent seen a single person buy it and its 70sc for a pair of gloves do they really expect us to afford it and the only stuff you can really afford is all the olf sets that no one uses/likes really many other games ive playes i will get bored from time to time but never thought of quitting but the only way i ever like star stable is for events and if im able to spent some star coins or theres new areas to unlock hopefully if i get 10,000 star coins ill be happy and actually play we will have to see...

my account was hacked and i wrote an email to starstable. i said that i wanted all my stuff back. they said they coudn´t do that but they could get back my horses. i was mad so i wrote another letter. result: i got all my horses back not my stuff. but i did get 2 other horses that i never had they were old though. i think starstable just thought lets keep her mouth shut or something.

I hate the fact that horses can only be bought with star coins, and that the main story quests and only be done with star rider. Now I don't mind star stable making money, the thing I mind is that non- star riders tossed through the gutter, all they can do is run around, do 5 races, 1 daily, and 6 stable chores. Thats it. What I think could happen is that star stable could be nice, make Jorvik shillings easier to earn, horses for another currency. I as a non star rider, can't even buy a the cheapest horse with the worst animations. I want equality. Now about gameplay, I feel really really sorry for people with star rider who finished their quests. All they can do is get involved in role-plays! I feel like the only thing that can engage lifetime star riders, that have finished the game so far, is creating a channel. Again this might not be successful. It could end in a bad way. They have nothing to do, quite literally. NO ONE does the daily quests now. The fishing is tedious, baking is boring, carrying wood tiring. And no one will ever do the comestibles chores its so boring. No one likes the daily's except non-star riders like myself, cause its all we can do! And some peoples parents, like mine, don't allow online subscriptions. They don't want to spend almost $100 on a virtual horse. And keep in mind most the people who play this game are the ones without real horse riding lessons, or real horses in real life.

Removing auto slow/W should have been optional IMO. And unfortunately, one of the devs has admitted they cannot add in blankets due to technical difficulty (aka their game engine can't do it.) I agree w/ you, removing the cold mechanic ruined some immersion. AND imo, removed a "sales incentive" to buy certain horses. I got to be villain of the day on tumblr about the W thing when I pointed out that this makes several statistics and any dressage mechanics from the old game useless, and got game dev lectured about "challenge" vs "Unfair challenge." Which to me came off as a great self own as if they were admitting their game mechanics are so broken they have to remove them and it won't change anything. Which w/o a stamina/endurance meter, they are correct. when they removed the endurance/stamina meter btwn the single player and MMO game, it created this domino effect of rendering other mechanics to "unfair" challenge. The Seasonal Rider games have MORE challenge and 2008 era game mechanics which are currently better than SSO's mechanics including horses w/ varying stats and the ability to customize shit. I can play FREE animal family games on CrazyGames that are more challenging than SSO. That's scary. As far as I can tell, SSE did no survey to know if they had a high percentage of their only 2 to 6% monthly active account base had the disabilities and the need to remove the auto slow down function. (I love how the gamasutra article left out the important context of how many game accounts they have. 30 Mill? 10 Mill? B/C 633K monthly users isn't that great then. Why are 94 to 98% of your account holders leaving?) They removed to be more "inclusive" and I bet to make it more mobile friendly. IMO they're going to remove stats entirely to, as the game dev pointed out in her response to well me sort of, offer "carrot based" mechanics instead of "stick" mechanics. AKA... selling cash shop boosts. Welcome to the EA style of their current CMO. I have a video script about how SSO is currently morally and ethically a scam, but I'm not sure I'm going to record it. I'm tired of being a villain for living in a world of statistics and numbers.
