Eventually, I want to see both a common crew ship storage lockers and private personal ship lockers. That is, one set of lockers for items all players should see and have universal access to and private lockers you need a key or code to access.

In a game called "rust" You have private lockers with a code lock on it, You can even customize pre set armor sets thats equipable with a mouse button. Really hope they implement this. Would be sweet when you set out for your next adventure among the stars.

The inventory menu also displays in the last 3-4 circles the ammo installed into the gun, so if you need to top of your mag now you know!

Thanks for the review/info. A sort function for each tab in the inventory system would be awesome. Having to look through random items to find something is clugy. Using the custom tab is workable for now I suppose.

I assume at some point with everything being physicalized that we wont be able to just have an ethereal ship storage, when you drag stuff into the inv it should hopefully be physically placed somewhere, including the ship components taking up scu's

Does ship size matter? I tried this yesterday to move some repeaters from new babbage to port tressler n it wouldn't let me. Unless it was just bugged at that particular time..

Well, yes. But it depends on what you’re trying to move. If you want to put stuff into a ship’s inventory it’s important to pay attention to its maximum capacity. Larger ships have more space.

It's not the inventory I'm worried about. It's the fact that the first six missions I tried to complete all failed due to game bugs. Man what a lousy experience.

It gets thrown around a lot. But remember. This game hasn't been released yet. Alpha testing is not for everyone. This game is in constant development. I share your frustrations. But unfortunately there's not much we can do about this other than play other games when we get frustrated.

I'm betting since you didn't cover this but, DID YOU KNOW, that if you put weapons or items in a weapons rack, anyone can then see and interact with them even if they did not put them in there. since the vanguard has such racks you should try using them to share weapons with your party. the racks for some reason work as a per-party instance as opposed to an individual one so often players that have ships with them use them to do FPS weapon and item trading. as they don't function yet, we also assume this may also be the same case for suit lockers but that one we don't know as they do not work yet.

This is an absolutely excellent point and yes I did forget to mention this bit, but I do this quite often in my M2 Hercules. I put weapons into the armory and then they are accessible by everyone :-) thank you so much for bringing this up though, a very important point!

You didn't cover the new 1 SCU and 2 SCU boxes. :( Carrying a box in is definitely going to be my new go-to for FPS missions.

You're right! I completely forgot about this. You're going to be able to bring these boxes down with you wherever you go and fill them up with loot and then bring them back to the ship to make looting easy :-) thank you for bringing this up :-)

Yep!! But of course you have to out them in your cargo first and haul them home, then put them into local inventory. But yes!!

Brand new player and I have already noticed it needs a move all. I like your guide it’s strait forward. This game is so complex starting from right now all the other guides are so fast and assume people have been playing a while and don’t make much sense. Is there a way to start over how u first started playing? I watched a couple other quick start guides which had me buy a bunch of stuff I would need then I died of thirst because I had no water on me. That was after blowing up twice trying to learn to fly out. So anyways now I have 0 money and lost all I started with but have the hang of flying and know how to get food and water. I am trying to make money doing deliveries I finished the first one then it goes to a set of packages and it’s glitched out and not let me finish I have gotten to the last package three times now and still not been able to get my 8 k lol. Hopefully it lets me collect before I need fuel.

There’s a lot to unpack there :-) First of all thank you for watching and I’m glad you enjoy my guides. To address your question about how to restart, you can go to the RSI website, and under settings in your account you can do a character reset. This will reset everything back to the way it was by default. Keep in mind that any modifications you made to your ships will be removed and generally speaking any items you may have lost can be returned to your inventory, even the ones you purchased with endgame money. But it’s not guaranteed and there is a chance that you may lose things by doing a character reset, including all your money. While package delivery missions can be a nice way to make some money earlier if you have the proper ship for it you can even try some bounty hunting which pays really well and allows you to get some money pretty quickly. Lastly do keep in mind that this is a project and not a game and that is far from complete. I am all too aware that this “it’s an alpha “mentality has been thrown around quite a lot, but it is unfortunately still true and it’s definitely something to keep in mind. Finally if you need more help and you haven’t done so already come by our discord :-)

Keep in mind that if ur ship is destroyed then ALL your onboard items are gone for good…plan ahead carefully before leaving.

Yep, as mentioned in the video insurance will not cover the losses. Although it would be interesting to see extended insurance that could be purchased separately for goods stored on board.

Thank you so much :-) yes you definitely can, but I would highly recommend upgrading your RAM to 32 GB. The reason for this is because the game is very unoptimized at the moment and it eats a ton of RAM. I hope this helps :-)

Suddenly wondering... why does literally every gun have different ammo?

Depends on the gun of course. There are a number of different ammo types.

@@SSPGaming IRL there are ammo standards, like NATO 5.56 or Warsaw Pact 5.45. Seems weird that the UEE endorsed manufacturers like Behring and Gemini wouldn't have standards between them. Heck actually they already do for barrels and RIS, just not ammo.

Sure but this isn’t IRL. It’s a game. And the devs are going to make it how they want to. I personally don’t understand the need to want to constantly draw parallels to real life from fictional pieces of work. It is the way it is because obviously that’s how the developer intended it to be, at least for now. I care less about that and more about being able to shoot a target from 4km away with a S4 gun.

@@SSPGaming perhaps you're not getting that non-ubiquity of ammo is bad for gameplay reasons (inventory clutter, harder to find relevant ammo, UI ambiguity). Real life found solutions to the problem of never having the right part for the situation (applies to far more than just guns) through the adoption of standards. Imagine if every brand of computer manufacturer had their own alternative to USB. With ammo it's just blindingly obvious that SC's future has seemingly regressed in a way that doesn't aid gameplay but harms it. CIG are no strangers to this with their scrutiny over metrics. This IS a parallel to real life, no drawing required.

Ignorant that others in your ship cant see what you have put in your ship. Just as ignorant is if you go to a shop somewhere other than where you are based if you buy something for your ship and equip it the item you took off stays there and is not added to your inventory or what makes sense you would have the option to have it put in your ship if you have the ability to store things.
