Ok. 16 tooth gear changed out. About 40 mins to do. Very easy But it started raining. Of all the times to start raining lol. So I’ll keep you posted. I didn’t take out a link on the stock chain so the wheel base is 1/3 or an inch longer now. I can’t wait to try it out.

Just came back from another rip. Lol. So at hwy speeds it went from 4500 rpm to 6000 rpm. In 6th. So if you do a lot of hwy it may not be the best for you. Here in Canada if you get caught doing 50kms over the speed limit it’s a huge fine and vehicle impound and license suspension so top speed here is the devil. I wanted more acceleration and I got it. It actually does make a big difference. It also seems louder but you lose a bit of the air sucking noise because it doesn’t bog at all it just goes. It was very cheap and easy do.

I grew up in a family of drag racers. The K&N didn't effect it but removing the rubber insert inside the intake and removing the exhaust servo sure did :D You can see the history of the build here kzbin.info/aero/PLB7a9_qObrLjja1V1CDxlGX6Bjtzl2u-w

I also want to install a k&n air filter on my 2021 gsx s. I do have a aftermarket slip on, does it need a remap in that case or will it be fine?
@sstressfl Жыл бұрын
The thing that mostly made me go lean was removing a big huge rubber silencer from my intake… it was only in the 2015/2016 models… and removing the exhaust valve… also only on the 15/16 models :) you should be fine. But any excessive exhaust popping after shut down or darkening of your exhaust headers will indicate a lean condition. You can always take a look at your plug color to determine. Also consider that these bikes run very very lean from the factory and even a stock bike benefits from a little tweak to the tune.

Great video. I have a 18’ GSX-S750. I took the tank off to check out the filter a while back and didn’t notice any sort of “silencer” in there. Did Suzuki take them out?

Michael Byrne Ah! Thanks, I’ve been trying to figure this out for a while now. I guess I do have it, might take it out today.
@jjsemperfi5 жыл бұрын
@@sstressfl So, I went to go remove it and my 18' doesn't have the same "silencer" as is pictured. I put it back together and forgot to take a picture (of course). When you look in the airbox there is a scoop that sort of looks like item #7 but the screws that attach it go through underneath the airbox. I also have two large holes on the bottom of the airbox on each side of the intake scoop. Seems like they changed it up for 18'.
@sstressfl5 жыл бұрын
@@jjsemperfi That's good to know! Sounds like they improved airflow over previous years! Are you going to leave it alone?
@jjsemperfi5 жыл бұрын
@@sstressfl I think so. When I go in and replace my air filter and do my spark plugs I'll take another look at it. I may see if I can get underneath and remove it just for kicks but it is interesting that they made two large holes on the bottom of the air box.

Where does it take the speed from. Is it from the crank or the rear wheel. Sorry I’m a newbie.
@sstressfl5 жыл бұрын
jay brown front wheel I believe. Should be a ring attached to the front left rotor and a speed sensor pointing at it.
@jaybrown87095 жыл бұрын
That would make sense because I was riding beside my car that my wife was driving and it said I was 5-7 kms over what she was doing so that’s awesome if it doesn’t mess with the speedo.

Where is the intake baffle located?
@sstressfl2 жыл бұрын
It’s only on the 2015 I think… it’s a large rubber 3 port air intake on the front, down low on the intake box. You can squeeze it and remove it. It makes the intake sound intoxicating 👍💪😎

@dethklokicksbutt5 жыл бұрын
karl l I’m in the process of doing mine right now, just keep an eye out for those plastic rivets. Don’t be afraid to pull with decent force but be careful. I find that it helps to squeeze parts of the plastic to take pressure off the small clips that snap into place. Also you’ll have to take off a good amount of the fairings on the sides (pretty much all of it) as our model year has a bit more than the 2015s

Here is the video: Part 1 kzbin.info/www/bejne/nZ6pead3pNSip5Y and Part 2 kzbin.info/www/bejne/eomlXoihp7B1jKM And recently I built my own front stand to hold the bike up while I removed the fork and steering head assembly kzbin.info/www/bejne/oqXLgp5tjLOGeq8

@sstressfl5 жыл бұрын
I removed mine after the video. I wasnt sure it was safe yet so I never made it official. But now that I went 130 miles in the pouring rain I’m not worried about it being gone :) It was a grab, twist, wiggle and pull process. If you remove your air filter, you should see a rubber air inlet underneath it. I guess it’s possible they redesigned the box. The parts reference online is all I have for a 2018 but that could be wrong.

@@sstressfl does it make any diference removing the intake silencer ?
@Travelling-the-universe5 жыл бұрын
Just that ive heard its not a silencer it just distributes the air more evenly across the airfilter
@sstressfl5 жыл бұрын
@@Travelling-the-universe I never put it on a dyno, but yes! 1) After removing the silencer you'll hear a delicious rush of intake noise... the sound is so good you'll enjoy being on your bike even more. But maybe that's just me :) 2) It is definitely pulling in more air. My bike went very lean afterward. I fixed the lean condition with a power commander. More air with proper fuel ratio means more power.
@sstressfl5 жыл бұрын
@@Travelling-the-universe I studied it before removing it. My first thought was that it might help keep water from entering the intake. But decided that I dont ride in the rain and the risk was worth the test. Later I got surprised by a storm and rode 133 miles in pouring rain with no problems. I avoid spraying water up at the intake when washing the bike, but that is also a manufacturers warning. Again, no problems. I discovered that the intake sound is so loud at high rpm that most likely it was designed to meet sound restriction laws in Europe. Regardless, the bike rages with it off. But the small hp boost is nothing compared to the intoxicating sound. Reminds me of my old hotrods with Holley 4 barrel carbs... when all 4 barrels were opened... whew... be still my heart ❤😎
