For high scoring tricks mix up the hands used to grab the board. For example, tap square and then hold circle will use his left hand to grab the right side of the board. The first button pressed is the hand: square = left hand, circle = right hand, triangle = both hands. The second button you hold down is the side of the board you grab: triangle = front, x = back, square = left, circle = right. Once you have this nailed, start tweaking the tricks with R2 (hold it down) and flipping with L stick.

Thanks. Once I started just doing extra jumps/flips in between big jumps instead of trying to do ground tricks, I was able to pretty quickly get silvers easily and the occasional gold.

Small add, always when not in the air do a nose/back press. It keeps your combo up.

SSX is so great game! I just ordered it and it should come on Monday or Tuesday. My record in demo is 17,5 million points. Is that good, average or bad score?

hey i got to 32 million today in the himaleyas (one this video is about) any advice to go all the way to platinum, 50 mil, etc. ......also how does one preform signature tricks cause i have got that score without using them but i think if i figure out how to use them my score will go up to about 40+million

great tip about left stick on grinds, never knew that... however, when using the right stick to perform tricks just after jumping can cause alot of duplicate errors, if i do a forward grab, and next trick i do "forward-to-right" on right stick.. it will still say duplicate although the grab is different.... can somebody explain

here's some constructive criticism; 1) learn the old controls by playing the old game and persevering. it will work out better in the long run. 2) once you learn that, preload your spins and jumps so you maximise points. 3) don't just do a front flip or a spin, do up and left or something so you get points for spins and flips in one jump. do this and you can throw down a 30mil on serenity with a low lvl character made for racing. i can lead by 7 mil on bulldog. im not too good at serenity.

Im not 100% positive but I would imagine it uses the same theory, in other words instead of a button press, you push the R stick in the different directions. So for example, instead of tapping square and holding circle, you would push the R stick left and then hold it right. But like I say I haven't tried it with classic.

You get more points grinding staying in 1 or 2 tricks per rail. Get a bigger bonus for huge and massive tricks instead of minimal points if you keep changing tricks. Changing up tricks is good for combo, but terrible for overall points

1 tip for ur tips don't try to get ur multiplier on long grinds because then u just miss out on big jumps and u have more time on the track

I cnt figure out how to link the tricks on the ground. Im playing on the 360. Im an old man, not that good at games anymore so i apologize if the answer was right there in the video.

The solution to this problem was glossed over rather quickly in the video, but it did include it. Essentially, there are two ways to keep the combos going between jumps - Don't stop tricking (keep hiting jump, spinning and hitting X Y or A) , or glide on the nose or tail of the board between jumps (press X or A, respectively. Check your controller setup in the game options for clarification). This will cause the combo to link up from jump to jump.

@oasisbeyond1 The game isn't hard, change to classic controls frame rate may be bad but doesn't mean its not fun, the older games got too old too fast while at least with this one you can play for wayyyy longer. Also I never experienced any frame rate drops. The pits are true though, those thing SUCK!

The multiplier doesn't need to be full at the begining.. It needs to be full at the end of the combo, when you cash it in. The multiplier will multiply the current combo score, so you realy jst need it at x20 at the end of the race. At least that's what I got from the game, correct me if i'm wrong please x)

@bigz008 A combo that is still going is always cashed in at the end. The amount it is worth is the combo total in the lower left times the number from 0 to 20 under your score in the lower middle. the negative number you see during rewinds is added to your combo total in the lower left after finishing a rewind. This means you could lose hundreds of thousands of points for rewinding.

This isnt a good tutorial, 15 mil on Serenity is nothing. I usually get 65-70 mil every time
