After having so much fun in Key West (link below to watch the video) we were eager to check out another old city (well, the OLDEST CITY) in Florida. With so much history and BIG crowds we were searching for something that would still allow us to see some of the main attractions but also share with you some possibly lesser known spots.
St Augustine is a gorgeous city - the architecture along we could have created a whole video about! And when we asked our friends who lived there where to go that was off the beaten path many of them mentioned that most hidden gems were pretty well known by now. So...we did our best to help you check out some of the spots we don't think get enough attention!

Vilano Beach and Northern Vilano Beach. We have vacation in St Augustine a few times now. I agree with your statement. The beaches and Old Town two very different experiences. One wants to absorb old town over a couple of days I would suggest staying in Old Town or the very close peripheral. It makes exploring on foot or the trolleys a lot easier First trip stayed in the heart of Old Town at a hotel. Second trip stayed at a very unique hotel in Vilano Beach. Upcoming trip VRBO on Butler Beach:-) Encouraged to see that you gave Butler Beach such high praise.

Beach & food & the nap 🙌. Looks like a pretty relaxing lifestyle. I think me and my husband would of done this awhile ago ourselves but with 4 kids it wouldn't work I don't think. Maybe once they all move out which shouldn't be much longer as the youngest is already 15.

I live in North Florida and go to St. Augustine and the beaches often. I was born in Kentucky, grew up in Indiana and have lived in Virginia, California, South Carolina, Los Vegas, Chicago and Oklahoma. I stopped traveling around when I settled in North Florida 30 years ago. There is nothing outside of Florida I really care for anymore, but I would like to visit Arizona and Nevada again someday.

this is kind of a left field suggestion but st. augustine is a great place to play pokemon go on your phone. lots of the in-game points of interest highlight the locations of historical plaques, statues, buildings, etc while you get to catch pokemon in a very walkable area. i know a lot of people tinkered around with this game at one time or another, an old cute town is a great reason to dig it back up. st. augustine also has a great distillery that does free tours, i'm a big fan of their gin 🌱

Haha yeah I used to play Pokémon when it came out about 5 years ago. But stopped a few months later. 😗 We actually went to the distillery but it was closed. Got there too late on our last day in St. A.

Enjoying your videos. Contemplating Van life with my amazing hubby of 36yrs. St Augustine is a great place to visit. Have you checked out the greater Tampa Bay area. Tampa, St Pete, Clearwater, Dunedin, Safety Harbor, Tarpon Springs to mention a few. So much to see and do. I grew up in Miami and moved to Clearwater when I was 34. Been here for 25 yrs now. Love it for the most part but I really want to move to the NC mountain area. I really want to experience seasons and hiking the parks there and seeing all those amazing waterfalls.

Nah we just parked on the side of the street in a small grassy area. You can’t park on the ocean side. No overnight. But the other side of the street is good. At least it was 2 years ago. Quiet spot, nobody bothered us. Park late, get out early you should be fine.

Nice video but not any “hidden gems” here…. except the lighthouse… never seen that one before! 😉 Probably the most “local” is Osprey Tacos. So, here’s a real hidden gem. A French bistro called Les Petite Pleasures. Amazing French pastries owned by a husband/wife from Annecy, France. I had actually visited their previous patisserie in Annecy unknown to me before they moved to St Augustine.
