This was a great video. I decided to move my cutting height up from 5/8 of an inch to 13/16 of an inch. My yard is very green and growing. in the Pacific Northwest. Temps have been consistently in the mid eighties. " Yard Mastery stress blend" has been awesome, I also used "green punch" with "green phite "as a stress blend liquid experiment. It worked well.

Love it Allyn, thanks for the info as always. I guess if you’d be seeing all that top growth, that would be a good sign, because that would mean that the stolons are spreading vigorously around. My guess would be that it would be bad if you didn’t because that would mean less turf density and more area exposed for things like weeds or unwanted grasses like the wild Bermuda, try to come in and take over those uncovered areas.

Wow ... excellent video! That is exactly the way my SA is looking up here in Pinellas County. I also have that wild Bermuda growing as well. 😢 How about this rain we've been getting over the past couple of weeks? I can almost hear my SA growing! I mow at 4 inches ... only because Honda doesn't make a lift kit for their mowers. I wholeheartedly agree with your point about cutting height, some of these lawn companies are cutting too low. Looks nice and neat ... but they're cutting all the green out of it! Has a pale green look to it.

Growing St Augustine in Florida has been a huge learning experience. I had several yards in Texas with St Augustine in North Texas where the soil is clay. We also went through periods of drought every summer. Watering was pretty easy, water pretty often. In Florida i've only owned my home since Feb and yard was in pretty good shape until these last weeks of heavy rain. I was freaking out until I watched your videos and did some research. good stuff!

I screwed up. I did not do post emergent early spring, I thought I did but the product I used did not have post. I've been routinely spreading Milo all summer. Watering twice a week with supplemental rain (I'm in central FL). The back and sides are looking fantastic, but of course the front... I have an attack from weeds. I did an Image treatment a month ago, but these weeds are prevailing. Any tips? I was thinking a granular with atrazine (I haven't had an app yet this year), but I know it isn't fall yet. I'm desperate for advice. Literally everyone's lawn looks amazing on our street. I don't want to switch to a lawn app company because I enjoy the DIY.
