With a little more time, they’d take it all the way to the dirt

Good to know your sequence for the garden.

Something different rotated every year in each bed, but the covers in between carrots/garlic was a fit

I love this idea. I wish I could rent a few sheep from you for a day😊

I’ve often wondered if you could run an organic lawn fertilizer company in town. Basic premise: I take my sheep to your yard for a week or so, containing them with electronet. Sheep provide a trimming, fertilizer, and entertainment for a cost far less than the chemical companies. Shepherd makes out like a bandit grazing city lots all summer🌱💫

Hi Jason, Awesome video. Missed the good word though. 😁. Can you provide a link or a seed list for the warm season cover crop, if you have it?

Green Cover Seed’s “warm season grazing mix” has performed flawlessly for me in the pastures every year. Here’s a link, be well: store.greencover.com/products/warm-season-grazing-mix

I'd like to implement more of this. We need to train ours to electric fencing though.

If it’s any encouragement, we just purchased a few more ewe lambs, and it took them about 20 minutes to learn the electronet!🤣

@birchfieldfarming haha we tried with 3 lines of wire and we have a ewe lamb with wry neck. She got her neck caught on the fence and spooked the entire flock and they immediately ran out. We haven't tried it since because we felt so bad about it!

That would have made an interesting time lapse with them being in such a small area. Will they be grazing the drainage ditch in the again this year? I have wondered how that area has done since they helped clear it and if it would be a good area for them every year

I’m blown away you remembered the swale grazing! Yes, hopefully we’ll make it back there again in the fall after 3rd cutting hay. The timing has to be perfect to allow farmer his final hay harvest, plus avoid heavy precipitation since we have sheep electric netted in. Timelapse would’ve been epic!

Will you run the chickens in after a few days to get the parasites?
