Great comparison. Long term the finish/coating on the PD will age out. That's too bad. Can you tell if the perfectly aligned screws on the front of the DuPont are simulated screws/molded into the case design? I ask because they just look different from the rear screws plus the human production-line time it would take to get all 4 screws aligned as well as not over/under tightened would be considerable. If they're screws then maybe that is part of the price.

Thanks V. Dembsey for watching the review. I believe they may be a bit of both. I attempted to unscrew them to find that they weren't properly torqued anyway. There are threads in there because about half of them i could screw down further to a stopping point and the other half were free spinning. So it seems like someone took the care to align the "front" ones regardless of some of them being very "loose". In my attempt to take them out though I could not get the screw to fall free - not sure if they are captured somehow. Hope this helps!

I just checked my S.T. Dupont cutter, they are definitely screws, the screws on the front are the actual screw with a threaded stem, and the back "screws" are the nuts, to tighten or loosen them, you have to use two screw drivers.

The high end lighters are, but I'm pretty sure all cutters and jet lighters are made in China.

I hate that these are made in China.. China does not scream quality. Japan does. Even my colibri sv is from china. Id pay more if it was made in the USA.
