If monks in monasteries and deserted places might not be saved because of demonic powers then who can be saved?? I feel like we are all doomed, people who live in the world preoccupied with surviving.

I thought the same thing. I think this is bad theology. I don't care how old these monks are. This is more like a Buddist type of thinking. How are we suppose to be light in the darkness to others if we segregate ourselves and do nothing.
